    Xbox Live Free Games


    I tried to get Dungeon Siege 3 for the Xbox 360 from the Games with Gold section on my Xbox One. I have payment details all set in correctly, but when I confirm the purchase it just tells me that the transaction cannot be completed. I also tried to get it
    from PC and it gave me the same error.

    Is this some known issue or am I doing something wrong?

    Nope, didn't get a free game with mine when it returned last week.

    Got a free month of xbox live though...

    First off you want to make sure you have a current gold subscription. You can check really quick by trying to play an online game or go to microsoft account by clicking on your GT at the top right of this page then going to services and subscriptions. If
    you have gold you will see it there.

    You tried getting it from the PC through here

    Yes I do have gold, never had problems with Xbox One purchases and also tried from PC from the Xbox Store.

    AM really baffled at this one to be honest.

    I logged into my PC and signed into Xbox.com, purchased Dungeon Siege 3 (for free) from the Games with Gold section, made certain the toggle was set to send to my Xbox 360 automatically, then waited about 2 minutes and looked in the My Games and Apps "Games"
    section and found it was already available and started the download.

    So, it does seem to be working for at least some of us. Hopefully whatever's causing your issue is fixed soon! =)

    No. They are not making Xbox Live Gold free. They are only make games that are "free to play" such as fortnite for example, not require you to have gold to play online.

    Other games that are not "free to play" will still require a paid Xbox Live Gold subscription in order to play them online.

    There is no date announced yet for when free to play games could be played online without gold.
