Xbox Live for PC Problem - NTFS Error

I cannot for the life of me understand whats wrong with this app. I have had it installed for some time now, and have played games on it fine. Then all of a sudden a couple months ago I get this error. "For this game, choose a drive that formatted as NTFS
"

The drive is clearly NTFS. I have updated windows. I have also uninstalled the app and attempted to re-install it and it wouldn't allow me to do that either. I had to install it to my smaller windows drive (SSD) in order to load the app again, but once again
... it will not allow me to install to my 3tb mechanical drive.

The only solution seems to be to create a parition on the same drive, format it and then it seems to work for most folks again, but that seems like a reach of a solution to get around what I think now is a broken app.

Any suggestions? thinking the only solution is to get another external drive, but I'm also thinking that's going to be an awful experience as well.

Try to format in pc to NTFS on Windows

is posible your problem is a fat format try to format to ntfs

It seems you got the same problem as I got on no man's sky. I posted here:

It may be a allocation unit size problem on the NTFS drive. If this is the case, you can't do anything except install on a drive formatted in NTFS with 4096 allocation unit size. Or wait for Microsoft to fix this really annoying problem.

To test if your allocation unit size is 4096 or not, you can use this command in PowerShell :

Get-Volume | Format-List AllocationUnitSize, DriveLetter, FileSystemLabel

Hi, presume this is for an xbox one (rather than a 360), the external drive would need to be formatted to NTFS rather than FAT.

Try reformatting it to NTFS on the PC, that may help with it getting recognised

When you plug a USB flash drive or an external HDD into the Xbox, this storage must be formatted on the Xbox. And the file system must not be FAT32 but NTFS.
So first, on the PC, format this USB to the NTFS file system and then connect it to the console.
