Xbox Live flickering on and off on XBOX ONE for two days now!!

Cranked up my xbox one elite on Friday evening, looking forward to some weekend gaming, but when the home screen came up I noticed it said I wasn't signed into xbox live. Strange, but figured I'd just go through the sign in process and get on with gaming.
Before I could do anything, the home screen refreshed itself and said it was connected to xbox live, as usual. Okay, so on to gaming...right? Nope! The home screen continued to cycle between conneced and not connected to xbox live about every 15 seconds.
So, I left it there and watched for a bit to see if it settled down. It didn't. I restarted the console; no effect. I unplugged the console and restarted it; no effect.

It has now been doing this for 2 days. Never had a problem with the console before and it's relatively new. Checked online to see if there was a problem with xbox live. A number of independent sites say there are problems. The xbox live site says everything
is just great...of course. Anyone have the truth about what's going on and when it'll be fixed? The console is useless at the moment...no gaming, no streaming (netflix, hulu, etc), nothing...just a suddenly schizophrenic console that can't decide what to do
with itself. And I paid for this...

Xbox One Kinect not turning on

Anyone else experience this? A couple days ago the Kinect light was flickering between on and off, and now it just won't start up at all. The Xbox One itself is working fine, but the Kinect seems to have died.

Any possible fixes, or does this require warranty repair/replacement?

Thanks I.E.! After turning the smoothness off in my TV's settings the flickering has not come back and it's been good for a few days now.

 

I have the same issue that just started a couple of days ago. I factory reset the Xbox and the problem still persists. I have hard wired and tried wireless connections to multiple routers with the same issue.

 

If it's a technicolor router or modem you have to get a new one because they do not work with any Xbox not 360 or Xbox one

 

I don't have a technicolor router/modem, but thanks for the thought. This is a new problem on a system that has been functioning just fine without changes for almost a year. Just tried a chat session with Microsoft to resolve the issue. They think everything
is fine, but their Live service is still out here and in a lot of other places.

 

Disconnecting is almost always a router issue and mostly effects ISP issued equipment...not just technicolor...most arris and superhubs are also effected....gateways in general...

 

That's an interesting point. I do have an ISP installed unit, but haven't had any issues whatsoever until last Friday. The internet (through the above-mentioned router) continues to function beautifully, but the xbox still cannot seem to maintain a connection
to the Live service. Doesn't seem to make sense that the router would function flawlessly for everything except the Xbox Live service, and only since last Friday. Very odd.

 

some isp equipment (maybe they pushed a firmware update) just cant seem to maintain a solid connection for some reason , usually wireless is the worst....try it wired and see if its still acting up , also , what is the brand and model # of the router ?

 

you might try and reset the gateway to factory defaults *(little push button on back , hold in for 30 seconds)

 

I've always run my Xbox One hard-wired and continue to do so. Given the above-mentioned suggestions that the router may be to blame, I did a hard-reboot on the router itself a few minutes ago and (for now, fingers crossed) it seems like I'm able to maintain
my Xbox Live connection. Didn't think of doing it before because there was absolutely no problem with internet service with any other device in the house through that same router (the only internet access I have) and I've never experienced this issue in all
the time I've had it. Incidentally, it is an Arris model provided by my ISP (Brighthouse - who just got bought by Charter, so maybe the messed around with something on their end).

Who knows? At any rate, it's good to see a stable connection. Thanks to all for your suggestions/support. I'll keep the thread open in case things change in the next day or so.

 

I got my xbox in February and it had this problem persistently. Then an update for the Xbox came and fixed it but recently I have had the same problem. I log on with great connection and play for 5-10 minutes and then have terrible ping. I then get disconnected
from Xbox live. When I hit the home button, the home screen refreshes and I now have good connection for for another 5-10 minutes. I am connected wirelessly and I had my ps4 in the same spot with no troubles. I cannot have a wired connection and I don't know
what to do.
