Xbox Live family

This Christmas might not be an XBOX 1... May be time for us to switch to the Playstation after all these years.... No family plan.... It would simply be ridiculous to buy multiple single plans... Especially in this economy. XBOX, who I have always had mad
respect for, has really dropped the ball! I dont recall seeing any notice, no email, or anything telling me the plan would go away either.

I can understand if the price needed to adjust upward a little (May not agree with it) but to have the main account renew as a single gold account is a slap in the face to us long time members!

I have just been reading the new Xbox Mag that quote:
'One Xbox Live Gold Account for the whole house, so no need for upgrading the whole family

Nice touch and will save some family's money for all the kids to be able to go Multiplayer

Hey mate, if you're considering the Xbox One, there is what is considered the 'Home Xbox.' If you have a gold sub and make your console the Home console your membership will be shared on that console. So anyone playing on that console will have access to

There is nothing similar on the Xbox 360 though, also I don't get why you would mention switching to PlayStation, completely irrelevant and serves no purpose.

 

Also to mention, they did send emails out last August when they started cancelling the family plan and gave each account an extra 3 months. If you're not getting emails, you should check your preferences.

 

As mentioned by "Smwutches", There was an email that was sent out.

Here is an exact quote from the Xbox Live Terms of Use:

"1.6 Can Microsoft change this Agreement after I have accepted it? Yes. From time to time, Microsoft may change or amend these terms. If we do, we will notify you, either through the user interface, in an email notification, or through other reasonable means.
Your use of the Services after the date the change becomes effective will be your consent to the changed terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Services and cancel any paid Services by following the instructions in section 6.10.
Otherwise, the new terms will apply to you."

The Xbox One will have a feature called "Xbox Home" which will allow all users on the same console to share the Gold features of just one Gold account holder on that console.

just to add: ps4 requires ps plus to play online
