Xbox live enforcement action?

Today I received a Xbox Live Enforcement action and I am unable to use many features for 24 hrs.

I was playing COD BLOPS 3 and received a message from another player, who's pride I obviously and unintentionally had hurt.

He was a good player and I am just a casual, i beat his score and killed him a few times...which happens.

The conversation went as follows:

"try not camping scrub"

"check the replay, butt hurt much" Me, as I wasn't even camping!

"You use hive and sit in 1 spot. Trash much?"

"Don't be so butt hurt, think before you open your mouth. Have a sook ****" Me

and then I blocked him as I don't want a sore loser spoiling my game time.

...and now I am banned for 24 hrs!?

I have never bagged another player or had any issues and always do the good game gestures if I make the top 3 players on the winning team.

Is this fair?

Am I wrong to feel like I want to cancel my accounts and go to PS4?

Trash talking is a reportable offense, especially when profanity is involved. It's a violation of the Code of Conduct.

Once reported, an Enforcement member looks through the conversation to see who violated the Code of Conduct, and issues actions accordingly. Even the reporter can get in trouble.

From what it sounds like, you probably got a communication suspension for 24 hours. All forms of messaging and voice chat are disabled, but you should still be able to play games online. What your exact Enforcement action is, is what's actually listed in http://enforcement.xbox.com
(log in, click the orange hammer).

For future reference, keep in mind that Enforcement do read all reports, and they check through text conversations, at the very least.

 

Trash talking itself is not against the rules,it's what you say when you trash talk that can get you into trouble.

Seems to me this individual was trying to provoke a reaction from you just so they could report you & they did.

If you must respond to a message someone sent you then just do so in a way that doesn't break the rules.

Whatever you said is blanked out on the forums so if it's censored here then it isn't allowed on xbox live.

 

I have been banned for quit abit and i have no idea why . i am unable to talk in parties with friends or message them. Can you help me
