Xbox Live down during Monday's sale- unable to purchase games during the sale.

I tried in vain for so long to get signed in so that I could take advantage of the sale price on Skyrim, but because Live was down, I couldn't purchase it. Now I've called Xbox support but they don't have any way to fix this issue, and they let me know that
it's going to be Microsoft's call because it was a Microsoft outage.

This made me think, when I go to the grocery store, they offer me a rain check if a sale item I was going to purchase isn't available for any reason.

This feels kind of like that, but more frustrating because I know you didn't "run out" of a digital download for a game, like a store might run out of a physical copy of a game or other product. Also because I don't get as excited about bread or yogurt in
a grocery store sale.

I would never ask for an extension of a sale just because I was late to the party by my own fault or circumstance. But in this case, I tried to get in during the sale period but was unable to due to an issue on Microsoft's end.

The people I talked to in Xbox phone support were so nice and really awesome, but I was
really disappointed that they were unable to honor the price from yesterday. I was really expecting to hear that Microsoft/Xbox understood why this is an issue, and would offer the game I tried to purchase during the outage, at the price I tried to
purchase it at.

Is there going to be any resolution to this issue? I hope there will be!

Unable to purchase Red Dead Redemption or get Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 (free with Gold)

This issue is still not fixed? Really!? I hope the sale for this game at least gets an extension being so many have been unable to purchase it (like me) during this time.

 

Xbox live was down for a few hours at most, skyrim was on sale from last tuesday in the black friday offer.

The only solution is wait till the next sale.

 

Yeah I guess so, it just sucks because it crashed right as I was in the middle of the transaction, and then I couldn't get back in to complete it.
