Xbox Live Down again

I have a xbox party going on at my house tonight and cant get on live. I love how the status of XBL is unknown at the moment. Congratulations M$ you have turned a die hard xbox fan into someone who is sick of what you have done. Been with you guys for 8
years on live and owned a XBox since year one. This is getting really old.

So Microsoft does not need to give you a compensation.

regardless of that, it seems like you're having more connectivity issues besides the occasional server outage. If you experience more problems feel free to post them so the correct troubleshooting steps can be suggested.

Agreed you agreed to the terms of service which is basically a contract. Don't get me wrong the Xbox One has some serious flaws but saying your owed something is silly. If you want to complain write their corporate offices (keep it civil unlike this post)
a actual letter, you'd be surprised how much more effective that is then ranting online.

And if you think Xbox Live is down a lot you've never played on the Playstation Network. Also on the point about features, Microsoft adds features based on how many people want and use them, its the reason playing custom music is gone from the 360, it was
a nifty feature but no one really used it and developing features costs money.

Hey. So I imagine you all know that Xbox is down at the moment. I have the day off and wanted to play something. I bought all of my games digitally and now it's asking me if I own the game or app... Now I specifically remember Xbox stating that they were
getting rid of DRM but now it seems that it's still there. Why aren't my games working? I paid for them and would assume that I should be able to play them on my console. It shouldn't matter if there's a problem on their end since I put money into the games
and should be able to at least play them in offline mode or something like that. I'm seriously about to just quit console gaming over this, since I paid money and am not getting what I paid for. Please help.

Not sure if this works, as I had a similar issue even after I tried this, trying to play Thief, but my issue might be game specific, so this might work for you.

Go to Settings and under Network, change to "Offline" and see if your downloaded games work (obviously multi player wont, but depending on your games, local play is supposed to)

I understand having problems is inevitable HOWEVER since I buy your *** games, have purchased an xbox one for myself, and an xbox one call of duty special collector's edition for my little galfriend... every time i buy one game i buy the same *** game for
another account. I have 2 xbox gold accounts one for me and for the gally... fact of the matter is xbox live is down way too often and seems to have connectivity issues 45-55 percent of the time since i have purchased the *** things.

Regardless of what i pay pretty sure a lot of your customers pay the same for a console with limited features... *** i hate consoles in the first place but that's what heather likes to play so I play it to spend time with her. Fact is we can't get in and
many other people can't get in.

Give me a free month of xbox live or I'm out and so is Heather. Not pleased with these persistent issues. Believe me I hate console games I'll gladly start playing on my computer. And a *** feature to take screenshots... seriously your running windows 8
on a *** 8 core processor and we can't take screenshots??? *** christ.

Not sure what writing to their office about Xbox Live being down is going to accomplish. Since stated above, when you made the GT and the account you agreed to the ToU. That thing you're supposed to read when signing up for an account.

For those who say it's our ISP's fault, just ignore those peps. My so called not-up-to-it ISP Spark NZ which is one of two top Telco companies in NZ, can load friends messages and achievements faster on my slim 250gig Xbox 360 console' Dashboard compared
to my Xbox 1 console Dashboard. Geek is correct, he actually has a gamertag which best describes him. Xbox 1 uses new Xbox Live Servers and technology (300,000+ servers worldwide in different countries). Xbox 360 has only 15,000 servers worldwide. I'm logged
on my 360 console did a test and the test came out with all green ticks. This site is up, and Xbox 360 Smart Glass and Xbox 1 Smart Glass are good to go. Since Xbox 1 has newer technology compared to 360, though it's suppose to be better than 360, it's still
has some more ironing and getting use to.

I don't know if it's been discussed yet as I haven't taken the time to read the entire thread, but the reason that we're having more issues connecting to XBL on the One over the 360 is because XBL on the One and XBL on the 360 are NOT the same. They are
2 completely different setups, that are in some ways integrated, but are otherwise not the same thing - XBL on the One is newer with newer software/hardware (just like the console itself) and is therefore prone to more problems. I know this because it was
briefly mentioned in an interview with XBL developers months and months ago (I don't recall where though, so good luck finding it). Like with the games, it's simply a matter of time before they get used to it and figure things out - ironing out the kinks as
they say. You have to remember that every time XBL goes down, they work very hard to fix it, and log EVERYTHING so if something similar happens again in the future, they'll be ready for it - they even have a clock on the wall inside the beating heart of XBL
(a massive room full of a bunch of technical engineers, analysts, etc.) that starts counting up when something goes wrong so they know exactly how long they've taken. This was something else that was also said in an interview. As a consumer, I realize that
it basically sucks not being able to connect to XBL whenever and wherever you want to, but you also have to remember that when it does go down that it's in some of the most capable hands it could possibly be in, the world over. So if and when it does happen
(which should become a rarer occurrence over time), don't panic. Just ask yourself what else you can do in the meantime - and from the looks of it, some of you already know what you're going to do.
