Xbox Live Disconnects When Playing Multiplayer Games

The past few months now, I've had a consistent issue in which every time I play any Multiplayer game or even just sit in a party, I get disconnected within maybe 20-30 minutes of signing into Xbox live. After I disconnect, if I try and reconnect, it gives
me an error saying I can't connect. But if I test my connection first, I'm able to reconnect. So basically I really need help with this issue. I've tried clearing my cache 3 times, redownloading my profile, and resetting my network settings back to factory
default. It's VERY annoying and rage inducing when I have to go back to the dashboard check my connection when I know nothing is gonna be wrong and sign back in. Especially with games with long loading screens like GTA V. The only other way i can fix this
is resetting my router which is in an entirely different room but I still disconnect ever so often

update - it was originally only happening on my console but it started doing it on my friends console now as well and now it is doing it on halo

@scratchdelicado - If you haven't already, please go ahead and start a new thread and detailing out your situation. Include the error code you're getting, along with any troubleshooting steps you have tried so far.

 

It sounds a bit like you may have a Nat issue. So for xbox live on your router your Nat type needs to be set to open. There are 3 types usually. Strict, moderate and open. Now Strict will not let you play at all. Moderate will let you play but you will experience
a lot of disconnect issue's at random times(this sounds like you). Nat only effects multi player games, party's and online chatting, this really sounds like you.

No it's not a NAT issue because my NAT is open and always has been.

 

Also it's not random times that I disconnect. It seems to happen every 20-30 minutes. I fully disconnect from Xbox Live altogether.

 

Ok so from your above post it says you need to reset your router to fix your issue, so it does seem like there maybe some kind of an issue with your network settings and your xbox, have you contacted your ISP?

 

Resetting the router produces the same result as testing my connection I just don't dashboard. I haven't contacted them but I'll try it in the morning

 

I contacted my ISP and nothing was wrong. I've researched a solution to my problem and came up with a lot of articles giving the same solution. (clearing cache, redownloading profile, and resetting factory default connection). None of those worked

I have had the same exact problem and I've done the same things and also had no success. It has grown so frustrating I've decided to sell my Xbox 360 and get a PS4 you have lost what was a die hard customer Xbox. You need to fix your issues.
