    Xbox Live disconnects ONLY when a friend is in the party chat


    I would be talking to my friends in the party chat and every time, after about 30 minutes, everything freezes and the party shows everyone else as "connecting." Shortly after,
    I'm kicked off Xbox Live and automatically signed back in only for it to happen again.
    But it ONLY happens with people on my friends list! I will be in a party by myself and will never get disconnected, even with people I haven't friended! But
    as soon as I add that person, every half hour or so I will get disconnected. I have had this problem for the past year and haven't been able to find anything on it. I would very much appreciate it if someone might be able to explain what is
    going on and how I can resolve this, thanks!

    Party and game problems

    My Xbox one is being annoying. My party chat disconnects randomly and doesn't let me play with my friends at all. I've looked up methods and none of them work. When I try to play with friends, it disconnects are party but when I'm playing a local game without
    my friends, it works fine. The only time it didn't do this was when I was playing elite dangerous with a friend on open play. Does anyone have a solution?

    Cannot play online because of lag issues

    Yes I am connected to Xbox Live, talking to my friend in party chat. And it never disconnects me.

    Let's have you follow all of the steps on the
    disconnection guide    , and if you still run into the same issue after this post back with the following:

    • NAT type on the console.
    • A picture of your network stats: Settings>Network>Network Settings>Detailed Network Statistics.
    • photo of the console location and where it is plugged into a power source.

    Getting Disconnected from Party & Private Chats.

    The private chats were with a different friend from the party chats as well.

    Something else notable. It only happens when I am on the dashboard. I played MW2 multiplayer for a good 3 hours didn't once get disconnected from xbox live or the party. 30 seconds after I dashboard I get kicked and put back in the party. =/

    I'm happy because that means I don't have to worry about in game disconnections but I sit on the dashboard alot and just talk to friends.

    Me and my other NZ friend were playing COD about 10 minutes ago but got bored of it. And now can't launch the game without getting disconnected. Xbox Live Party is working am with a friend in it right now. I'm gona watch a DVD but were still gona stay in
    the Xbox Live Party. When my friend first joined I was telling him to get out of Party chat cuz I thought it wouldn't work. Game chat in Search and destroy was working well.

    Sporadic "Disconnected from Xbox Live" messages.

    I am having the same issue and it's starting to make me become very agitated. Sporadic disconnects from XBox live when I am not actively playing an online game. If I am playing a single player game, Skyrim for example, within 5 minutes I am disconnected
    from Live. If I am in a Party Chat I am disconnected from the chat but not Live. Then I have to reconnect to the Party. Or, my friend are booted from the party and not me...the party issues happen every 2-3 minutes or less sometimes. Starting to get very aggravating.
