Xbox Live disconnects, but only while using apps or dashboard

My Xbox Live connection seems to say it is disconnected but it hasnt. If i check another device that is connected to the same router it will still be connected, so I know it isnt the internet connection. This also only seems to happen when using apps like
twitch or avatar editor or any dashboard apps. I never disconnect from a multiplayer game. On Twitch it will say internet fail and asks me to check the connection, but i will hit the back button and itll be back to normal and ill be watching the stream again
after 2 seconds. Its an odd issue so Its okay if you dont have a direct answer, just wondering if anyone knows what im talking about or has had issues like this.

Battlefield3 & Fifa12 server disconnects

Hey there Turnip! I understand you are having some sporadic disconnects recently. Does this only happen in Fifa 12, or do you experience this in other games as well? Do you ever get disconnected from LIVE while using apps or just navigating the dashboard?
One thing you could try is simply downloading your profile again. Sometimes this can clear up issues with disconnecting after launching games. Let me know, thanks!

 

whats your setup ? wired or wireless ? separate modem and router ? (model numbers ).....

 

wired, its a standard modem router from xfinity

 

if its an arris tg---- , its most likely the bad guy....

 

It was the standard default router modem that came from comcast so youre probably right that its no good
