Discus and support Xbox Live - Dedicated Game Servers in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; Will we get more dedicated game servers instead of peer to peer for games like Call Of Duty etc. ?     I thought LIVE was more stable?

    That’s the problem with Monster Hunter. Like most games they use their own server solutions and integrate with the services live provides and supports. Devs have the option of dedicated servers through Azure but most don’t use them. That’s why Fighter Z had so many issues as well.

    Microsoft is partially guilty in that they allow consumers to think that Xbox Live will provide you better servers for gaming. It doesn’t. Outside games like Halo 5 etc. That utilize dedicated servers anyway. Devs also love to passively fall back on the idea that Xbox Live (or even PSN) are responsible for the quality of the online game. Especially when their servers or netcode sucks since it defuses blame.

    Dedicated servers ARE NOT a thing of the past. They aren't HERE yet. Xbox sent out a survey and a tool so they could track traffic because they are planning on making XBOX live ALL dedicated servers. EA only users dedicated servers.

    Those 300k servers are not for dedicated gaming servers. Dedicated gaming servers are provided by the game publisher and or developer. The servers they were talking about at the reveal was for matchmaking, cloud storage, and digital content delivery. To
    this day there are only a few games that support dedicated servers on XBOX 360. So if you think your live fee is going to enhance game performance then you would be mistaken.

    They can't take down the servers, because technically there aren't any servers. The Call of Duty games do not have any dedicated servers, the games are hosted from other gamers Xbox's and Internet connections, a kind of peer to peer system. All LIVE does
    it match players together. If there were real dedicated servers, this would not be an issue at all.

    Wait does Activesion even host dedicated servers for this game?

    The developer decides if they want to have dedicated servers.

    Even if it is dedicated servers, the developer dictates the quality of those servers.

    Xbox Live is ... something else it provide services like the store, DLC, your gamer score, ability to chat with your friends.

    Game servers is not really related to Xbox Live. Maybe unless its first Party Games like Halo 5 with dedicated servers.

    I also need someone else to validated if dedicated servers are used are developers tied to use Microsoft Azure as a platform. For example titanfall use Azure servers.

    Only reason you could be upset with Microsoft is if Call of Duty Ghost use Azure servers. Then again if Call of Duty use Azure, you have to blame Activision for paying not paying for enough servers. The servers are there it just really depends on if the
    developer wants to pay for them.

    Regardless the more you know, the more you understand being disconnected is not really related to Microsoft or its products.

    I do not work for Microsoft. Simply saying you need to complain to Activision and tell them to have good quality dedicated servers for the games you play.

    Not exactly. However, if you're trying to host a dedicated server for a game that supports it, that would work. It would require a secondary Xbox live gold membership though.
