    First and foremost, I do apologize for my little rant. (It's just, I really feel like pwning some n00bs).

    As you can guess from the topic of choice, the servers are indeed not up and running. Generally speaking, I'm rather patient and do take all possible problematic suggestions in account. Alas, I've given in. Ahem..

    "Your console can't connect to Xbox Live. Do you want to exit this session and test your network connection? If you are playing a game, you will lose any unsaved progress. 80151901"

    Well, I have signed out of my account as you may have imagined and took the appropriate steps to overcome this rather tedious problem. I went ahead to test my Xbox Live connection and apparently (would you believe) it says there's a problem with my connection.
    "Unplug the power from the router or modem for 30 seconds. Reconnect the power and wait another 30 seconds" - I've completed this task about a dozen times now and I must say, there's no novelty in doing it the thirteenth time.

    What I'm really saying here is, this should not be my problem. I went on "Xbox Live Status" and it told me that the Xbox Live core services are up and running and yet, this is not entirely the case. Don't get me wrong, the last thing Microsoft employees
    need is a Network Attack at Christmas time (and I'm sure you're more annoyed than I am). All I want to know is HOW CAN IT BE PREVENTED. Please do not give ill suggested solutions (like the Xbox did). Thanks.

    Not had any problems with XBL over the past week, been happily gaming on ME3 multi-player.

    And UK here too.

    Error 87DD000F occurs when you try to sign in to Xbox Live on Xbox One

    This may mean that there was a service outage just before you tried to sign in. However, Xbox Live core services are currently up and running.

    Is this still a problem they are trying to fix? It says that xbox live is up and running on the service status page but I haven't seen any updates on Twitter and I still can't sign in to Xbox Live.

    The Xbox Live core service is still affected by the preceded weekend's service outage. They are still working on this issue to have core service up and running again.

    I would not recommend any troubleshooting steps, until the service alert has been lifted.
