Xbox Live Core services NON-FUNCTIONAL

My xbox 360 console could connect easily to xbox live, but I could not sign in.

I have not been banned, and my account is in good standing and is at gold level until it expires May 1st in a couple of weeks when I shall renew it manually.

Fearing a security trouble, I changed my password on the Web.

I also deleted my Xbox 360 console login profile so that it would have to keep me logged into Live once account recovery happened.

When I attempted a Download Profile all went well until the progress bar for the download got about 1/4 of the way across its full length.

The error code provided to me I gave to technical support via LIVE chat texting. code=8007007A

Tech support chat claimed that Microsoft had updated their server software and troubles had resulted and to keep my eye upon the xbox.com web site service status web page that he had linked.

I asked him where on that page the status was displayed AT ALL that there was any trouble in the first place so that when it changed I could attempt another Download of my profile. He did not say.

I located the spot that is part way down that says logins, profile downloads, BUT IT SAYS that all is well when it strictly is NOT.

Microsoft has a problem telling the user why or if a bug that they caused shall have work done to fix it ASAP or if the problem status should even be acknowledged publicly.

When will prompt action be taken to discipline the men at the top who sanction sweeping changes be done that are UNTESTED, then fail to even acknowledge the problems caused?

Non functional xbox

the error code appears as soon as the system boots up, I CANNOT pull up the troubleshoot screen via bind/eject power, I can do absolutely nothing past this error code.

My Xbox One can easily sign in--so it is an Xbox 360 issue. I am in Canada. My account has only 3 letters. Any new, invalid checks within the server update shall cause obstacles to my progress...

There is currently a problem with Xbox Live Core Services...check back here later for an update:

It says core services are functional atm..

To clear everything up the Xbox core services were down and seem to still be down meaning a lot of functions on the Xbox live servers will be down temporarily.

You can see this in the network settings on the console or the link below.

Hey xChiZmx! I can understand how the status page could be confusing!

The problem right now, as shown by the status page, is with "Xbox Live Core Services." Since problems here can affect all services that utilize Xbox Live (including games/apps), it's easier to simply update that section of the page than to change the status
of every listed app that utilizes the currently-unavailable services.

So even though the app itself may technically be functioning fine, you might not be able to access it on your end when the core services are down since the app needs to utilize some of those services.

I hope that made at least a little bit of sense!
