Xbox Live core services down again

I don't consider either of my consoles my primary one when it comes to the ps4 or x1. I am just hoping that the threat that was said on twitter does not happen and that MS & Sony are prepared if it does happen.

 

I hope this issue is fixed by the time I get my xbox one or I will not be a happy camper.

 

i've had both consoles for a while now, haven't really had any trouble with either of them, even last night i saw this thread and figured i'd be playing on my PS4 last night, but i started playing a digital copy of CoD:Black Ops 3 for about 3 hours, no issues
at all, perhaps the issues were with a certain region?

either way, i'm sure next week we'll see if there have been improvements or not, if memory serves, Live was down for about half a day on Christmas, and PSN was down for about 3 days (for me anyways.).

It was that way for me as well. My only issue with my PS4 was it got hot and would shut off automatically as a safety. But all electronic devices have those units that have problems. My biggest issue with the One is mostly due to the fact that I game
share with another console in my house. So if Live is down I cannot use my non-home console for digital games. But that is an issue because of the game sharing so I accept that. I did have an issue where no console would let me in when live was down due
to needed the password. Even in offline mode on the home console. I had to use a pass key to fix that.

I really hope that the problems do not pop up during Christmas break for many people. I feel it will to some extent though. But it is not like these services are 100% or can stop these things 100%. People will lose their cool over it though. Just how
some people generally are.

 

You cant stop a Ddoss attack though can u no matter how much money u throw at the service u cant stop it and thats what they r doing it hasnt affected me till now i cant play any games

 

You're correct, you cannot stop a DDos attack, however you can build a gaming system which does not need an internet connection to play games.

Those multiplayer online only games aren't looking particularly good value for money over these last few days.

This is excactly the reason people fought against digital only with alway on connection.

Unfortunately the world will 'always' be full of bad people who will disrupt gaming etc, and Microsoft know this and should have implemented a system to take this situation into account.

At the moment it's far too convoluted and delicate where hardly anything works properly without internet connection.

It's not the end of the world, but when billions of pounds / dollars have been spent it may seem like it to kids who have spent all their money on a system that doesn't work periodically.

Now where did i put my snakes and laddders ?

After last year, you pretty much have to expect a good
SLAP IN THE FACE from Xbox Live. Tis the season!

 

Regarding the "is it your home Xbox?" reasoning, I can certainly say that's not the cause (although it may still make things worse), because my console IS my home Xbox and last night, I was again unable to access any of my games or apps for a short time
due to the XBL service alert. My network was fine and so was my console's ability to connect to Live (I was able to sign in), but I simply could not start anything without it crashing back to the home screen within a few seconds. When it did this, it left
an error message saying something along the lines of, "having trouble connecting to the XBL service." Even weirder was the fact that when I tried to jump back into said game or app, it took me right back to where I was (for example, the same web page if I
was using MS Edge or the same part of the movie if I was watching something on Netflix), which means the game or app didn't actually crash (because it never fully closed; I was still able to "quit out") - it was still working 100% with the exception of crashing
back to the homescreen every few seconds, which sadly, is bad enough to warrant not using it - and that's EXACTLY what these hacks want (and there's a reason I'm referring to them as hacks and not hackers - I'm sure you understand).

 

just glad ms dont let it stay down for long last xmas it was 5 hours compared to psn which was 1 week

 

We are down yet again... again I can't play any of the games that I own digitally. 2016 and we still can't get it right come on Xbox work on this problem

Such is the price when you "share" your games. All my digital games work when Live or my I.S.P. are having issues.

 

Well it still sucks! So what i dhare my games with my family since it was a service xbox provided... I wonder if they have this problem on PlayStation

 

So here I am with a thousand plus dollars worth of Xbox Deere and games and I can't play s***. This is ridiculous for 2016

 

Punishing somebody because they share their games is ridiculous. It's like selling a car that has a convertible top but not telling the owner that if you put the top down it won't be able to drive at all. Doesn't make it that I have to suffer just because
I share my games if that's the case

 

Having to agree this is bull$#%^. The one night in the week I have time for some gaming and I can't play any of my purchased downloaded games. I'm all set with MS. The two xbox one's in my house are the last MS consoles I will own. Never should have let
go of my 360. PvZ 2 is the last piece of coin they are getting from me. Gonna stick to my PC gaming and jump brands on the console front for next round. This round has been a disappointment on so many levels.
