Xbox Live core services down again

First let me start off by saying I've been an Xbox Live member for 12 years have been pretty happy up to this point. Lately the service has been having tons of issues. Right now I'm trying to login to xbox live and play my games that I bought digitally
and I can't. I get an error every time I click on my game that basically says I can't play it because there's something wrong with Xbox core services. However others are not having issues I guess because they're not sharing their content perhaps. If you can't
play your games that you bought with your hard earned cash on your xbox just because some services go down there's no excuse for this garbage. Xbox really needs to fix this it wouldn't be a problem if it happened every now and then but its starting to happen
a lot.

And while I'm venting its 2015 where are wireless headsets ? I almost want to go out and buy a Playstation

 

Yeah, I noticed this issue. I have one of my consoles set up as home and the main I play on is secondary. So now I cannot play. Sort of understandable since the games are tied to the home console and account but to play on the account away from home you
must sign in. Thing is, I am already and was signed in when issues happened. Once signed in you would think it would work.

Either way it is like this on my other current gen console as well. Digital just will not load away from the primary console when offline. Have to sign in.

One of my sons can play because he is on his home console. So he can play his content. That is the cost of digital. There will be things like this put in place to keep the system from being manipulated. I guess if it was not like this several people
could share one gamer tag and then just stay offline for the most part except for downloading new purchases or whatever.

 

Looking further into the issue it looks like it's the digital games that's causing the problem. For people that own a disc they are having no issue. This is ridiculous and needs to be put on the top of the ish me have to fix at xbox. Seriously it's a first
in gaming history where you can own the game in the console and not be able to play it How can you own a console and the game but yet not be able to play it at least single player makes no sense. If that's the case and they are trying to keep people from staying
offline except for downloading new purchases or whatever then they need to think of an alternate method. I can only imagine how many people download their games digitally instead of getting the disc and then have this issue.. its been a super stressful night
watching all my friends play their games online while I'm sitting here and I can't play none of the 25 games that I own digitally

Ah so its more like mommy and daddy won't buy them an Xbox or Playstation! Toys out of the pram time! Lol.

 

SUPERGENO is the console you were playing on set as the home console? if not thats why you could not play. as most people now know if xbox live core services are down there is no way for the console to verify that the gamertag owns the games that are digital
even if said gamertag is signed into xbox live already unless its the home console, and the reason disc based games still work regardless of the console been home or not is because it gets permission from the disc to play even when the xbox live core services
are down, thats the down side to owning digital games shared between 2 consoles, only the home console can play digital games offline.

 

Makes you really wonder what you are paying for, tell me, why is it on PC I get literally the best online experience and its completely free. Yet on consoles, you have to pay for the biggest racket in history ( online fees ) and there are more problems then
you can shake a severed arm at ? Im not trying to start *** here, but its a valid question ?

 

AXIOMS OF FATE, this Xbox was NOT set as the home Xbox and I know this was part of the problem now. I was able to switch the Xbox to the home Xbox but was still having the issue (after calling xbox tech support). Either way that's no excuse and I belief
Xbox should look into tracking a different way. perhaps a encrypted code that allows your second Xbox to be able to play offline game too? Its just a pain in the butt when you spend over 1,000 dollars on Xbox games and consoles and you cant play ***. Perhaps
if we all complain a little XBOX will do something to adjust this.

 

An issue I have had with the service being down is that my tag would not sign in. Even in offline mode it would tell me that I needed to log in. I had the console (home console) set to "lock it down" where I needed to input the password to sign in. Well
it would always tell me I needed to be online on that console when live was down. Setting up a pass key removed this issue. Was a while back and that may not be an issue anymore but it definitely was for me.

As for a different way it would be a challenge. It would be easy to sign a tag in on different Xbox One consoles and allow that tag to run the same games offline. I know for a fact that if you could do this there are several people around where I live
that would do it. They would use 1 tag for any games that were single player only or games they had no interest in the MP. Set that tag up on each console and just use those games with the console disconnected. That one tag would allow them to all play
the game on several different consoles without issue. So the need for verification is there.

I guess we could complain about it but I highly doubt it will change. The system is actually not set up for game sharing and sharing is just a by-product of they way the system is set up. I am just glad they do not limit the users of games to one person
at a time. Which I am surprised it isn't set up that way to begin with.

 

I've had both systems for around a year, and I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but Sony really has their act together compared to MS. This console still feels plagued with small issues. If someone forced me to choose one over the other right now,
I'm afraid there would be no hesitation in taking the PS4. I really hate Sony as a company, but their product is superior right now (although ask me again in a week when they probably get hacked )

I hope someday MS can fix all this stuff, since solid competition makes for a better all around industry.

 

Yeah, I would probably be the opposite Back Lot. The issues I had early with my first PS4 was the reason the One is my primary console for everything except the obvious first party exclusive stuff.

Seems to be common though. Issues tend to lead consumers away no matter. I know people that had One consoles and switched because of the issues they had. Minor or not. And they now have PS4 and will say things like "Well, the One has issues as well"
when they have issues. And then I know people that started PS4 and switched due to issues and it is the same. The biggest thing for MS is that this console started off on the wrong foot. Any issues now become bigger than they are for many. It has become
cool in some ways to bash the Xbox brand with many.
