Xbox Live Connection works but I can't access any Live services

Hello,

Last night I was playing an Xbox Live-only game and was in a party with 7 peoplw when I was suddenly disconnected from xbox live and was booted from the game. I tried to sign back in to my profile, and what happened next is this:

Took a very long time to sign in

When it did sign in, no alert popped up saying how many friends I have online like it normally does

It showed me my friends who were online but it didn't show them that I was online

I tried to start up the Xbox Live-only game I had been playing and it kept loading and wouldn't connect

I tried to join the party I had been in before but again, it took a super long time to load, and I even got an error message saying it was unable to connect to the party

I tried to download a free game from the Xbox store (the one that was free for Gold members) but that wouldn't load either

Naturally, after this happened I went into my network settings to test my connection and it said everything was connected well, including xbox live.

This has never happened before, and prior to this, xbox live worked perfectly for me.

Can anyone help me this? Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Can't play anything because I can't sign in

Well I am connected to Xbox Live, Im just dont have access to any services. Try logging in and see if you can get on it.

Yeah, it worked now ...rebooted. So I'm offline. So let me get this straight, your offline right now but you will go online once services are back up?

Update: After restarting my router, the problem appears to be fixed.

You could post in the xbox 360 bans forums, and see if anything has happend to your account, if not would you be able to get in touch with Xbox support thanks

This issue has highlighted how ridiculous the online requirements for XBOX One are. You can't do ANYTHING without being connected to XBOX Live. Just because XBOX LIVE goes down, doesn't mean my machine should act like a brick. My machine has Internet
just fine, but because it can't connect to a certain server I then can't connect or do anything else. It's ridiculous - glad I realized this now before I went any deeper into making this my "go to" entertainment device - not worth it if I have to rely soley
on MS to keep their service up so I can use this very expensive device I have purchased.

It's sad, because it's a great system - but this locked in to XBOX LIVE to do anything is a killer - just don't have time to put up with not having access to anything for two days - I can't watch HBO Go, I can't play a game on a disc (unless I want to start
over and not be able to save), I can't use Hulu - all those sites are up and working just fine, but because MS gates you with XBOX LIVE I can't access them. I can't get behind a machine that won't let me access perfectly working services because it's own
service apparently is garbage.

I'm having a similar problem. Connection tests show that I'm able to connect to the internet without any problem, but I can't access the Live service. I could last night, and earlier this week.

Can't connect here either. FiOS in SoCal. Can't connect to Live on my Xbox or "Games for Windows Live" from my PC. Can't access these forums from any device connected through FiOS either. Only through cellular data. Everything else through FiOS works just
fine.

Hi Jeremy

I am able to connect to the network. I am able do download any update in the games, but I am not able to browse any games or previously downloaded games. It shows in the download but I can't see download again. Also in the network settings, it shows

Network Status:

Internet : Connected

xbox live: Connected

Live status:

------------

! Service: Service Alert

Xbox stores: up

Accounts: up

Matchmaking: up.

If I try to access any online games for download immediately I get 8C15000C.

wont work because i cant access any online settings without connecting to xbox live and i cant connect to xbox live without accepting the terms and conditions.
