Xbox live connection speed

Download speed 321mbs upload speed 46mbs. Play one multiplayer game, maybe two and speed drops to download 1.08mps and upload to 28mbs. Internet provider is AT&T plan is for 1000mbs download and 1000mbs upload (that never happens) fastest speed I have seen
on the Xbox One is 542mps and 76mbs.

I have an open Nat and port forwarded all of the necessary ports. The connection is wired, our wireless speeds for tablets stays at 80mbs for both upload and download for tablets and phones about 1/2 of that.

Only thing I can think of is something to do with the Xbox. I have watched a ton of YouTube videos and tried all of the supposed fixes and yet here I am.

Any ideas?

Xbox Live Connection Speed

I'm on BT and on Infinity option 2. Which gives me up to 73mbps down and 19mbps up.

I just used this speedof.me on both my laptop and 360 to compare results.

Using IE on my Laptop: 55.12mbps down & 12.54mbps up

Using IE on my xbox: 2.00mps down & 3mbps up

Might be wrong but guessing xbox live connection speeds are capped at a max of 2 down & 3 up

Just thought I'd start a thread regarding connection speeds as I had issues with lots of lag on some games.



The only speed test I could find that works through IE on Xbox was speedof.me and interestingly I was lucky to get 500kbps through my 30Mbps Virgin Media Fibre Optic Connection. So today I had a ADSL line fitted at only 4Mbps yet when I go through speedof.me
through the Xbox I'm now getting speeds of 2Mbps, no lag issues, So I've gone from 1/60th to 1/2.

So there we are. If others want to try speedof.me through their Xbox and post their results. letting us know what their ISP speed is supposed to be we might get some interesting results!



(running speedof.me through a PC I found that the results fluctuate between half and two thirds of those I would get through something like speedtest.net, but I'm guessing if everyone is using the same test we see which ISP's work better with Xbox Live)

 

To me it looks like your router is prioritizing connectivity to your Xbox since online gaming requires a constant upload/download connection. I would recommend reaching out to your ISP technical support to investigate. Ensure UPnP is enabled and if all
else false tech support should be able to assist you with QoS (Quality of Service) which your router/modem should have. QoS gives you the ability to prioritize connections on your network. I would also recommend using your ISP speed test as the speed tests
done on Xbox are only estimates and could vary on the time of day or if Xbox LIVE servers are having issues.
