Xbox Live Connection Issues

Started yesterday (7/16 at about 3:30PM Central Time) my son started getting kicked off Xbox Live. He was then able to reconnect, but would eventually get kicked out again. The problem seemed to get worse and worse until he could no longer connect to Xbox
Live. Today we cannot connect to Xbox Live at all. Connection test shows that the internet connection is working but Xbox Live connection is not.

We have two XBoxes, and both exhibit the same behavior. One is configured on the network normally and the other is in the DMZ. Both are hard wired to the router. Network statistics test are both showing more than adequate performance. There are no other
issues on the network.

I have reset the router and the XBoxes various times. The router had been up for over 800 hours prior to this and no other issues were occurring on the network.

Things you have tried: I've done everything related to Xbox Live connectivity on the support site up to and including deleting my profile from the Xbox. After that was done I cannot download my profile because it cannot connect to Xbox Live. I did have
one of the XBoxes that was able to connect for about 10 minutes this evening but that no longer works (this was NOT during t-shooting so no changes to my network were happening near this time)

Any Error Codes you encounter: Xbox Live Connection test fails but does not report an error just says connection failed. Trying to login results in

Xbox live connection issue

dependin on the xb1 and what update you are on this can happen.. the newer update with the user interface similar to windows10 had a big update to part chatt.. it even expanded how many in the party.. pre the windows 10 update allot of users had issues with chatt with people in the preview program and people not.. not sure if the problems still exist..

Any Xbox one users can help? we have an issue.

Recently my son was playing his xbox and we added Xbox live (one month free trial)

All connection tests came back good, and he can talk to his friend. However when they try to join each other's game it says "connection lost".

I assumed it was the modem so I connected it to a secondary wifi we have and still the same. His friend attempted to join a game and got the same message. A friend of mine in a different state said she has been having the same issues the last few days.

Anyone have any idea how to fix this or what it might be?? HELP!!!! Lol

 

So after several tracert's and different t-shooting steps I ended up changing nothing. I am periodically able to connect again but it is inconsistent. When I do get connected, I launch Destiny and everything looks fine. Then I try to do something in the
game and I get an error stating that the Xbox cannot get to the Destiny servers. Trying again a few times will usually get me through. Performance in general feels sluggish.

Again, nothing else in the house seems to be impacted. Just the Xboxes.

 

I'm having the same issue with 3 Xbox 360 and ps4.... I'm in Carrollton, TX and have frontier also

 

My problem:

Why can we only connect to Xbox Live for a couple of hours every couple of days? We've followed all the advice on Xbox and Microsoft; switched off the router, swapped cables, logged out and logged in again, refreshed the account, etc, etc, and still the
service that we are paying for is not working properly. Everything else in our house works perfectly; iPods, phones, computers, on demand TV, everything, so it's not a problem with our internet. In fact, when we test it, which we do on a regular basis, it
generally connects to the internet but fails at the Xbox Live stage. I have looked on some chat forums already, and this would appear to be a regular problem for many people. I would appreciate an answer that will enable us to simply use the service that we
are unable to access, without suggesting going through all the steps that we have already done dozens of times. Thank you.

 

Still happening. Particularly annoying when playing a league game, and it disconnects and declares this a defeat. This has happened 4 times and now puts me in danger of relegation. This aside, there is still no rhyme nor reason for why it disconnects all
the time and I am still awaiting a response from a moderator. Thanks.

 

Hey, OfficialVentrio! In order to not take over someone else's thread, can you please post up a new thread detailing the same information that mtbninja posted in their original post? While symptoms may be the same, everyone's network is set up differently,
and this requires different steps to help resolve different people. Be sure to post up every troubleshooting step you have done so that our community doesn't ask you to do things you've already done. Thanks for understanding!

 

Sorry. Don't know how to start my own thread! I just seemed to be having the same problems as a couple of the others on here so posted my reply.

As it stands, I have now been relegated to Division 9 having been unable to play a full game without being disconnected, thereby putting each of these games as a defeat! Actually, I was able to play a full game, which was a draw. As for the set up, I think
I've detailed that in my original post, although I am with Plusnet and have just switched to fibre broadband, which has helped our internet but not Xbox Live. Please advise how I can start my own thread, if this will be easier. Thanks.
