    Xbox Live Connection Issues

Can anyone help me out? I am having an extremely hard time staying connected to Xbox Live, and playing games on line. I have an Ethernet cable plugged into my Xbox 360. Yet I still get the same latency, upload and download speeds as my WiFi. Which is a
lot less then I should be getting. I also constantly am getting disconnected from Xbox live, many many times a day. I can just have the Xbox turned on and not even doing anything, or just playing a game offline and still get disconnected from Xbox live. It's
not my internet because my Ethernet cable gives me the speeds I should be getting on laptop ( although it doesn't feel any different from WiFi speeds ). And my laptop has no issues with the internet. We have 3 Xbox 360's in the house, and they are all having
the same problems. 2 run off Ethernet cables and 1 on WiFi, even when there is only 1 Xbox turned on and 1 laptop turned on, maybe 1 or 2 phones on the WiFi an nothing else in the house connected to the WiFi or turned on, we still have the exact same problem.
I am extremely frustrated and upset by this, video games is all I have that brings me any sort of joy in my life right now. I can't even enjoy them because Xbox live can't stay connected. I am desperate for some help here, I want this problem fixed once and
for all. Please can someone help me.

    :)

    Xbox live connection issue

Any Xbox one users can help? we have an issue.

Recently my son was playing his xbox and we added Xbox live (one month free trial)

All connection tests came back good, and he can talk to his friend. However when they try to join each other's game it says "connection lost".

I assumed it was the modem so I connected it to a secondary wifi we have and still the same. His friend attempted to join a game and got the same message. A friend of mine in a different state said she has been having the same issues the last few days.

Anyone have any idea how to fix this or what it might be?? HELP!!!! Lol

Alright so first things first, do you know the NAT settings on your router, also have you ran a speed test recently? It would be very helpful for us to know what speeds your internet is running as it seems to be a router problem. Also have you recently turned
off your modem/router to see if that helps as well?

Let us know so we can get this fixed for ya ASAP!

@Loki2654 My NAT type in pretty much every single game I have played is open. I run speed tests almost daily, according to laptop with Ethernet cable, I am constantly getting 90 mbps download, and 35 mbps upload - www.speedtest.net, On the WiFi, my speeds
are usually around 20 mbps download and 5 mbps upload. On the Xbox 360 speed tests, my speeds are the same regardless of WiFi or Ethernet connection, same as the WiFi speeds on my laptop. The Latency is always high, usually around 250 ms.. On both WiFi or
Ethernet. Aside from buying a new router, which I am in the process of saving up for, I have done everything within my power to fix this, and nothing works. I have brought an Ethernet cable, reset modem / router, called my ISP and had ports opened, Tried different
Ethernet cables / Ethernet ports in the router. My brothers Xbox which is also Wired with Ethernet cable has the exact same problems.. If buying a new router does not solve this problem then I have no choice but to Stop buying Xbox live membership and most
likely will stop with the Xbox all together. I am not financially able to pay for Xbox live membership, or Xbox games that I just can't get the full enjoyment out of. Living in Tasmania, Australia is naturally giving me bad internet. I'm paying for the best
internet that my family is able to get here, and its suppose to be 100 mbps download and 40 mbps upload. More then enough for gaming - so you would think?! But I seem to have nothing but constant issues with Xbox live and even on the laptop with Ethernet cable,
my internet seems to be running very bad. That could and most likely is due to a lower end laptop. I am saving up for a new gaming PC as well, so if getting a new router does not fix Xbox live issues for me, then I will have no choice but to swap to the PC
for online gaming. I however want to and prefer the Xbox for gaming, I have friends I enjoy playing Call of Duty Ghosts Extinction with on Xbox 360, The last 2 weeks or so, I have been lucky to get 1 single game in on any game before getting kicked off Xbox
live. I haven't even been able to log into Xbox live upon turning the Xbox on...

I'm having the same issue , I've tried everything possible according to Xbox trouble shooting , the only thing which seems to be the problem is the high latentcy. I received the latest modem from Telstra and nothing has improved. The only thing I can think
has happened is Telstra has downgraded its network and is getting people to pay for Telsta platinum if you want the problem fixed. The Bandwidth is to wide and fast on their wireless connections , it's a Telstra rort I reckon

Can you please try the following test:

When you start to play on your Xbox console(s), open a command prompt on your PC or Laptop.

To do that on Windows, press Windowskey + R, then type "cmd" and click OK. If you have a Linux or MacOS PC, open a terminal window.

In that window that opened, type the following command:

    ping www.google.com -t

(If you use Linux or MacOS, omit the "-t" option)

This should produce rows upon rows of numbers.

Now play online on your Xbox console and keep that window running on your PC.

As soon as you get disconnected from Live, do the numbers on your PC significantly change, or does the response change to something else completely?

@Arminatorx I just did ping test on google, while playing. Xbox on WiFi and laptop with Ethernet cable. Constant 20 - 22 ms ping, a couple of times it went a little higher. but pretty much consistently 20 - 22 ms ping. At the time of getting kicked off Xbox
live, there was no change at all. Prior to that, no change at all. I will test it with Ethernet cable in the Xbox and WiFi on the laptop. I am also playing youtube on laptop, no interruption no issues or problems with the laptop. I have skype running in the
background with laptop, not doing anything on skype other then a couple of messages with 1 friend. ( I don't know if you need that information, but I figure I will give as much information as I can )

After doing ping test with Ethernet cable plugged in and WiFi on laptop. Basically doing the same thing as before ( A run of Point of Contact on Call of Duty: Ghosts, Extinction. Playing youtube, and having skype in the back ground with no messaging this
time. I did have Xbox forums open this time, not yet been kicked off Xbox Live, only had it happen once today. The ping was around the same, 20 ms average, was a lot more spikes and rises in the ping, a few drastic ping changes, where ping shot up to 200 or
so, but that was only for 1 line. A few pings in the 60's and 70's mark, but other then that was pretty much fine. No real drastic changes, what I expected from the WiFi on the laptop. Xbox runs about the same as on the WiFi though, doesn't feel any better.
