Xbox live connection issues

My xbox was not connecting to xbox live when I start it up. I have checked the network connection and it says that I am connected. I have now gone and bought a new one and I can't even get it setup because of the same issues.

I keep getting a message with error code 0x80072EE2. Can somebody please help me with this issue.

dependin on the xb1 and what update you are on this can happen.. the newer update with the user interface similar to windows10 had a big update to part chatt.. it even expanded how many in the party.. pre the windows 10 update allot of users had issues with chatt with people in the preview program and people not.. not sure if the problems still exist..

Any Xbox one users can help? we have an issue.

Recently my son was playing his xbox and we added Xbox live (one month free trial)

All connection tests came back good, and he can talk to his friend. However when they try to join each other's game it says "connection lost".

I assumed it was the modem so I connected it to a secondary wifi we have and still the same. His friend attempted to join a game and got the same message. A friend of mine in a different state said she has been having the same issues the last few days.

Anyone have any idea how to fix this or what it might be?? HELP!!!! Lol

Here are the steps I would start with to test your Xbox and modem are communicating properly.

1. On the modem, remove the Xbox Ethernet cable from your router.
2. Plug the Ethernet cable from the Xbox to the modem.
3. Turn off the Xbox.
4. Unplug the power cable from the back of the modem.
5. After 1 minute, plug the modem in first, and then wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.
6. Turn on the Xbox.
7. Test your Xbox Live connection. To do this, go to settings, then System Settings. Select Network Settings, select Wired Network, and then select Test Xbox Live Connection.
   Note If you can connect to Xbox Live with a direct-modem connection, your console and modem are working as expected. To connect to Xbox Live using your router, you might need to change a setting on your router. For information about how
   to configure your router, see the Xbox forums.
   
8. Sign in to Xbox Live, and then try to download your profile again.
   

After you plug back into your router andare still having issues, you will want to go to Xbox One : Networking. You may need to check some of the ports on your router and make sure that they are open. the steps on the networking
page will help walk you through and make this possible.
