Xbox Live Connection Issues & Instability

I haven't quite narrowed this issue down, nor is the behavior consistent, so my description of what's happening is going to be a bit rambling.

Over this last week, my Xbox live account sign in started acting up. This manifests itself in a number of different ways:

1. Sometimes I can't sign in when booting up the Xbox live. It lets me choose my account, but then hangs for a few minutes and says there was a problem, try again.

2. Sometimes, while connected and playing a game (Destiny), I will get disconnected from the game servers, then a minute later i will get signed out of my Xbox live account and a pop up saying "Sorry Scott" will show. Then #1 happens.

3. When I do encounter a sign in issue, sometimes a shut down and restart of the console allows me to sign in, sometimes not. Sometimes a hard reset (unplugging xbox1 for 1-10 minutes) works, sometimes not.

4. Sometime when starting my console, everything connects and all works fine, but sometimes the home screen takes many minutes to change from the default green screen to the Live Connected screen that shows my color choices and Xbox Live tabs (like Featured
& Friends, etc.)

5. Once connected, I can always access my friends list, but sometimes I can't do anything from it (like send message, or view details). Usually this results in a freezing of friends, that seems to get stuck even if I close friends and re-open it.

6. Regardless of visible issues with friends list, accessing my friends list almost always triggers the issue of getting signed out and then stuck being unable to sign in. Specifically, sometimes I can view and interact with my friends list without issue,
but within a minute or two my game will disconnect and and im back to issue #1. To be clear though, this issue has happened multiple times without accessing Friends, this just seems to be a gauranteed way to trigger it. Accessing activities has triggered it
to, just as do nothing but playing Destny has.

7. Lastly, this issue seems to to last for 5-30 minutes no matter what actions i take, then everything just works. When I started this message I was having the issue, without doing anything, it just automatically signed back in and all appears to be working
as expected.

I am fairly knowledgable with routers and port forwarding etc. I hadn't done that with this console/router setting before this weekend because I had had no issues. But I have done it now by following the guides. I've given my console a static IP address
and opened all the ports listed. This seems to have made no noticeable difference. I have recycled my modem, router, console multiple times. While some combination of this seems to fix the problem, it's not consistent and so does waiting some arbitrary amount
of time. In the end, I can't completely define the issue, notrthe resolution and while it doesn't fully prevent me from using my console, it has gone from minor annoyance, to major annoyance, to i don't even want to deal with it anymore. Please help.

Random Disconnects from Xbox Live while using Netflix app

I can play video games on Xbox Live with no issues, I can play DVD's while connected to Xbox live without being randomly disconnected, I play computer games on the same network with no connection issues, I use a work laptop on the same network that is uber
sensitive to connection instability with no issues.

There is currently an alert on Microsoft Xbox support pages about Xbox Live Network instability. This instability can affect the purchase of items, redemption of codes and downloads. Apparently, this instability may also be related to your problem.

Sorry to hear about the connection issue! Could you provide the brand and model numbers of both your router and your modem? Also, if you haven't already, follow the steps listed on our Xbox
One multiplayer solution page and post back any error messages you receive when you do that test. That information will help us troubleshoot the issue with you!
