Xbox Live Connection Dropping every 15 minutes or so.

I've been having issues the last few weeks with my Live Connection. The problem isn't with connecting to Live, but rather with my connection dropping frequently. I first noticed this a few weeks ago after never having this issue before. That night I tried
for several hours doing anything I could think of. Went through the entire Xbox Live Connection protocol... soft/hard resets of modem, trying different ports, new ethernet cable etc... nothing seemed to worked. I've done speedtests and everything tested
way above the minimum. That's not the issue. Then I realized my 360 was wifi compatible so I hooked up to the wifi on my router and BAM just like that it worked flawlessly for about a week or so. Then that started dropping... so I went back to the wired
connection. For the last 2 weeks I've been going back and forth between the two and at this point I don't even notice a difference. They both drop frequently and without reason. My internet connection during this time has always been stable. I have a wired
connection that is also wifi enabled. Occasionally my XBL connection will be stable for hours at a time, but most times I can't play anything that requires more than 15 minutes of commitment, which is very frustrating. I've also noticed that it SEEMS to
me that during the hours of say 5-10 PM the connection is the most unstable then, but in the early afternoon and later evenings it seems to be more steady. That's just what I've noticed but it's not an exact science. There's nothing else connecting to my
WIFI except my phone, and the router is maybe 10 feet away from my Xbox. None of this should even matter because I've ALWAYS used a wired connection for my xbox and never had this issue in the past. I've tried googling the problem and everything that I've
tried has been unsuccessful. I'm posting this here in hopes the issue can be resolved.

yea but thats for your nat type not begin open..my nat has always been open..im running a wired connection to my xbox and its dropping connection after 15 minutes of connecting...

I'm also using the same Technicolor TC8305C cable modem that other's on this page with the same issue are using.

Hey, miLLa! To echo what Mister Beep said, I'm very sorry to see about the disconnect issues! If you could, I'm looking to find out which type of Xbox 360 you've got. You should have either the original 360, the 360 S, or the 360 E. If you aren't sure which
one you have, you can determine this by the kind of power button you have:

• Xbox 360 Original: White or Black power button (depending on which color console you have).
  
• Xbox 360 S: Silver/chrome power button that is touch sensitive, larger circle.
  
• Xbox 360 E: Silver/chrome power button that needs to be pushed in like the Original console, smaller circle.
  

This will help us out a lot if you could provide this! Please try out the troubleshooting steps that's posted up in that thread you linked, too. Let us know if you are able to resolve the issue with them.

 

Everyone that is having problems with connecting to cod or destiny and has the technicolor Tc8305c needs to either switch their modem with Comcast or whoever they've got or get their own modem. The technicolor is not compatible with Xbox. I have not even
been able to play games online because of connection drops. Switching the modem will fix everything.
