xbox live connection and wireless controller disconnecting at the same time

hi have my xbox one for less than a year and for a week now my xbox randomly disconnects from my wifi and the controller at the same time . and i have to plug the xbox out to even get the controller to connect back up . any solution would help

Ever since the 4/13 update my xbone has been acting strange. My controllers are not staying connected to the console and whenever they get disconnected, I also get disconnected from xbox live. My brother has an xbone in the house as well and he is having
no issues. Our wifi signal is strong and consistent and there are no NAT issues. I have read that it could be frequency interference so I set my xbox to the 5ghz frequency rather than 2.4 ghz and I am still having issues. There are several older threads about
this happening to people after past updates but no solutions. Is this happening to anyone else?

I've tried hard resetting and updating and the controller is charged. I don't understand why that every time my Xbox disconnects from live that my controller disconnects as well. For starters I don't even know why my live is disconnecting...

Sound's to me like a faulty Wireless adapter inside the console. You could try a full factory reset to in-case it's a corrupted driver. The steps for that are listed here:

If that doesn't work, you'll need to send in your console for repair. If you haven't already, you'll need to register the console first, then request the repair. All of which can be done here:

will i loose all my downloaded stuff ? i seen people sent there xbox away with the same issue and they were sent back saying there was no issues on them .thanks for the help !

Unfortunately yes, although you won't have to purchase anything again, just download or reinstall from disc. All your game saves will be backed up on the cloud. Alternatively, you can get a USB 3.0 external hard drive and copy all of your games and apps
to that to save downloading them all again.

Also be sure that you remember you account email and password as you'll need to download your profile again.

 

Did a factory reset work? I have this problem and loathe the idea of being boxless for a while.
