Xbox Live connected but I can't play online.

Sometimes the Xbox will show a message that it's having problems getting content right now or that it can't connect to Xbox Live but it actually is connected. Have you tried playing a game online, which would be the best test to see if it's working. Is

I live in Georgia and I can't play online either the error message I keep getting is "Your console is connected to the internet but can't contact Xbox Live."

Sat in a party with my mate clearly connected to xbox live yet I can't play any games because "I'm not online" right laugh

Whats up with this Xbox Live connection i haven't been able to play online in two days this is not good they need to fix the problem, I am just paying for gold membership when i can't even play online, this is not right.
