xbox live compatibility

My son has had a 360 for about 2 years and has built up a good collection of friends who he enjoys playing Plants v Zombies, Terraria and Minecraft online with.

We have now bought him an xBox One and are finding that none of these games are compatible, hes downloaded Terraria for the One and we'll update Minecraft and PvZ in the next couple of days but hes worried that he won't be able to continue to play with the
friends who are still on 360.

Is this the case? or can he play the xBox One version of Minecraft, Terraria, PvZ etc and still play online with his 360 friends?

If not, I have a feeling that there will be an almost brand new xBox One for sale soon.....

My Account won't stay connected to xbox live on backwards compatibility.

I'm having a problem with backwards compatibility. My xbox live account disconnects from xbox live when I attempt to log in on the 360 menu on backwards compatibility for Xbox one.

 

He would have to play a backwards compatible game in order to play with his 360 friends.

 

Thanks for that, the list of compatible games seems to be lacking most of the ones he likes to play which isnt how the console was sold to us "its great, all of the 360 games can be played on the One"....hmmm

now to answer your question. If the Minecraft, Terraria or PvZ games do not have the Xbox 360 logo, then sadly he will not be able to play those games with anyone on the box 360. If he still has his Xbox 360 then he can play with them that way. They are
adding new games to the backwards compatible list every few weeks to a month or so. So when a game is added that can be played with his 360 friends he can play with them through the Xbox one. keep in mind when playing on the one to a 360, if your son wishes
to join a party with then he must press the start and select buttons at the same time to either make a party, pull up his friends list or answer messages or join a party. I hope this greatly helps you in the matter and hope you and your family has a happy
