Xbox Live Code redeemed on Xbox One not applying to Xbox 360 account.

Early in January, I redeemed an Xbox Live Gold 12-month card on my Xbox One. It worked immediately for my account on the Xbox One. However, my account remained a Silver account on the Xbox 360. Do codes purchased in a store only apply to one console or console
generation? Should I wait until the code runs out then purchase gold online, or is there something I can do now?

You can add Microsoft Points pre-paid codes by using the Xbox 360 console or by using Xbox.com.

Xbox 360 console

To enter a pre-paid Microsoft Points code by using the Xbox 360 Guide main menu, follow these steps:
Press the Xbox 360 Guide button, and then go to the Marketplace area.
Select Redeem Code.
Enter the 25-character pre-paid code.
To enter a Microsoft Points code by using the Add Points Wizard, follow these steps:
To access the Add Points Wizard, press the X button while you view any content description screen within the Game Marketplace or Video Marketplace areas or while you view the Memberships section in the Account Management area.
Select Redeem Prepaid Card.
Enter the 25-character pre-paid code.

Visit Sign In (Sign In) or follow these steps:
From Xbox.com, use your Windows Live ID to sign in to your Xbox LIVE account.
Select My Account from the My Xbox drop-down menu.
Click Redeem Code to enter the pre-paid code and add Microsoft Points to your account.

ACDC Track Pack

Apparently, DLC from the EU PS store doesnt work with and imported US copy of the game. If this is the same on xbox you may not be able to import them anyway.Click to expand...

This is fortunately not the case for Rock Band DLC on the Xbox 360. :smashin:

However, the code might not work on a non-US account (at the moment), so that could an issue for someone who hasn't created a fake US Xbox Live account (or doesn't want to use that account to redeem the code).

Are you using the same account on both consoles? Gold is attached to the account, not the console. So if you're sharing gold with someone else on the One and they have the gold on their account, you would show as silver on the 360.

Did you redeem the code on the Xbox 360 console? If you did, I would suggest redeeming the code on your computer.

You can redeem all types of prepaid codes, including Xbox gift cards, Xbox Live gold cards, and Xbox Music Pass cards, on a computer and have them applied to your account immediately. Here’s how:

1. Go to www.xbox.com

2. Sign in

3. Go to the "Xbox Live Gold" tab and click "Redeem Code"

That's it! Your Gold membership will be applied instantly.

the Xbox 360 calls the Microsoft account a Xbox live account.

you need to log in with a Microsoft account before you can redeem your code.

You can create a account and redeem it from the Xbox home page.

What kind of code are you trying to redeem? If it's an Xbox Live Gold subscription card or Microsoft Account currency, you can redeem that on either Xbox One or Xbox 360. Keep us posted!

Same issue here. I redeemed a Gold Battlepack code on this website and it didn't work. I redeemed a bronze battlepack code ingame and it worked just fine. I think Palamino might be correct in thinking that the code was applied to xbox 360 through this website
and not xbox one.

On the 360 Live membership is needed for each account. It is specific to the account that the code is applied to. On the Xbox One only one account needs to have paid membership for all users to access gold features.
