Xbox Live code 1M Gold not working

It doesn't look like there is any Xbox Live status impact for Russia at the moment. How/Where did you obtain the code? There could be a possibility the code was not activated and can't be used. If this is the case you would need to take the code and proof
of purchase back to the retailer so they can activate it. This could also be a region issue so make sure your account region matches your console region. Let us know some additional details or if the error continues to occur after trying it later. Thanks,

everything shorter 1m is considered a Gold Trial and will not Show as Gold on your account, not providing Access to Gold only Features.

These codes are intended to work with what they are bundled, but sometimes they can be used on different games or apps to it seems. if you have active Gold it would work on both consoles, as you are using the same gamertag

OK - this is what worked for me.

First off:

I bought the original 1M with my CC which I later deleted off my account.

I then bought a 3M and got all the errors I have posted above, and which other users have reported.

Apparently:

When you delink a CC you cannot renew a membership - you must wait for the old one to expire.

It also appears as if different zones have different renewal types - so if you had a renewal which you cancelled you can only renew the same type (1M and 1M). You cannot "renew" from a 1M to a 3M for example. The 1M must first expire.

I waited till mine expired and then my code worked.

Strange that MS does not see the need to tell people why something fails, but chooses instead to provide a cryptic error code.
