    Xbox Live Cloud Gaming - Geolocation IP address issue


    IP address range: 5.59.241.0/24

    XBOX Cloud Gaming on XBOX reports "Your console is in a region that currently doesn't support Cloud Gaming"

    Your geolocation database is incorrect. The above range is register in all major databases as the United Kingdom. Please kindly update your records and allow access.

    Hello Dbeyzade, this is really weird, have you tried contacting your internet service provider so they can see if they can do something locally on your Mode/Router?

    Unfortunately that answer is (pretty much) correct.

    There is no such thing as 'UK IPs' etc. There are just IP addresses and databases that people maintain that attempt to identify the location of an IP address.

    The two largest services are Maxmind, and Neustar which we continuously ensure are correct, along with many of the smaller geolocation services. At this point we are unaware of any geolocation database that are providing incorrect data, though we will happily chase for corrections if any are highlighted to us.

    The largest issue we have are providers who maintain their own geolocation databases, but give no clear way for us as an ISP to contact them and resolve issues. Microsoft is one of these. I've not had an update from Microsoft, despite contacting them by phone, and highlighting on this forum that I'm willing and able to help resolve these problems.

    Hope that helps explain the issues we are having. We can provide the information that Microsoft need in order to correct their records, we just need someone to put their heads above the parapet and work with us.

    My IPs are located in Madrid. I tried about 4 webs about IP geolocation. The IP Database in Microsoft/Azure are outdated.

    I think too! My provider told me I should try to communicate with someone from microsoft because they need to update their IP geolocation database so they can register the IP address to the correct country. I've tried to chat with someone in the support
    chat but they told me they can not do anything with the IP's. So I don't really know. The provider also told me that if i switch off my router for a while it can happena, with a little bit of luck, that the router connects with a new IP address.

    Every other device is working without any issues, even the xbox is connected to wifi, but it cannot connect to my profile.

    Do you think it would change something with the IP address if i connect the cable instead of the wifi?

    I think what the issue is, is that some Fibrus customers have been assigned an IP address that was previously registered (before Fibrus got the IP address) to a different location (to whichever service) . For example your IP address could have been used to play Xbox previously and MS/Xbox registered it belonging to that country it came from. But now you have that IP and even though it's in the UK now, MS may still see it as being in another country as that's where it was previously registered from. So Fibrus needs to reach out to Xbox and make sure their IP addresses/IP Ranges are fully updated in Microsoft's/Xbox's geolocation IP database to reflect the new location's they belong to. Please tell Fibrus to escalate this issue to their network teams and for them to contact Xbox about this problem as it's happening to quite a number of people at the moment. I contacted Fibrus previously and they told me they shared the forum chat I sent them (the link to the ms forums) in their customer service chat for them to look into (this was a few days ago) Keep me updated if you can , thanks!! :)
