Discus and support Xbox Live Billing Confusion. in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I was told to come here by another member to try and find help before i consider renewing my Xbox Live subscription,any help would be appreciated....     Xbox Live Billing Confusion.


    I was told to come here by another member to try and find help before i consider renewing my Xbox Live subscription,any help would be appreciated.

    I have tried to contact support via the chat method but had no luck after waiting for about half an hour, will try again later if this yields no success.

    billing confusion

    Too transfer your balance to a new card follow the steps below

    Sign in to the Billing and Account Management website. https:billing.microsoft.com

    Under Your payment methods, click the payment method you want to change.

    Under Payment method activity, click Go to payment method information.

    Under Payment method information for this account, click Use a different payment method.

    Click Add new credit card, and then click Next.

    Click Add new Direct Debit, and then click Next.

    On the Confirm transfer page, confirm the balances and services you want to transfer, and then click Next.

    Enter the information for the new payment method, and then click Save.

    So, A couple of months ago, my father had moved away due to private reasons and of course he took his credit card with him.

    Today, I had went to go buy a 1600 microsoft points bundle using his credit card that was supposedly still on my account. However, I got a notification saying that "cant authorize the selected payment option. Please select a different payment option or add
    a new one." I tried to buy it again using the supposedly active credit card that was on my account but i still got the same error message.

    I had went to my email and I recieved an email from xbox live saying that "unable to charge your credit card... you will not have access to the service until you update the payment option for Xbox live 1600 microsoft points bundle."

    I had called my father and told him the issue I was having and he said that was because the credit card on my account was a credit card number that he no longer used.

    How do I update the payment option for my account so I can purchase the microsoft points?

    Hi there, I suggest signing-in at the following link:
    https://commerce.microsoft.com


    There it will show all billing history and what your current subscription is, whether it's auto renewal or 1 year code etc. you should be able to work out whether you've been over charged or not.

    If you have, the only people who will be able to help are phone support as no one can help with billing issues on the forums:

    Im back again with the same issue, Xbox took out another years payment even though i cancelled auto renewal and gave no permission to do so, further more the £5.99 has started up again.... but worse still i have tried to contact them and the chat method
    says "wait time no longer than 31 minutes" when i could leave it on for days and nothing will get answered. I have tried phoning and emailing and nothing. It just seems my money is being taken and nobody at Xbox cares.

    I'm sorry you're having this issue. As DigitalAssassin stated before nobody on the forums has access to your account information, the only way to have those issues handled is to call the support number. I know you said you have tried this already, but unfortunately
    you will have to attempt calling them again. They are the only ones that can access your account information and give you an explanation to why you are receiving the charges on your account.

    Sorry that this couldn't be more helpful.

    Really confused over my Xbox Live Billing - bit of advice?

    This is why I always do anything to do with Billing over the phone with support.

    when did you cancel the auto renewal? Because there is a chance if you left it too late then the payment taking process had already started when you cancelled it, so it still took the payment then cancelled your Gold

    Best thing to do is to contact Customer Support by phone, explain what happened and see if they can tidy it up and refund the latest payment for you, only they can help sort it for you now...free phone call, can be sorted in under ten mins
