Xbox Live Bans are Broken

I’ve just received my first ban ever in 11 years of playing xbox, all because of some salty, toxic player.

I was playing fortnite and killed this guy with a trap, then I get a message saying 'lol keep teaming' because some other player happened to attack him too, obviously he's unaware of what 3rd partying is in this game. So I told them to
[Mod Removed - Profanity] (of course) and they just wrote 'enjoy the ban.'

How is this a thing? You can't just go sending toxic messages to bait people into a ban, and from what I've seen on these forums it happens A LOT.

I think MS need to review this system and maybe look at entire communication threads between people, not just a report on individual messages with no context whatsoever. If there's no repercussions for those that can just send toxic messages and report you
for no reason other than they can't take losing then it's going to keep happening, and by the looks of it people have even switched platforms over incessant banning.

I got banned on Xbox communication for saying low life has anyone had that or is Xbox just picking on me now if they are I've already bought a PS4 and when I'm permanently banned. Microsoft expect no more consoles from me and my friends I've already told
them and they've been banned by stupid things aswell so Microsoft I have one thing to say to you fix you banning system it doesn't work when you have a robot in the system doing it, and I've told my friends to get PS4 is they get permanently banned and say'd
to them to pass this on to others, so your gonna lose on money.

If you are banned for a day then that is fair after you broke some rules. You be back on xbox live and you will be playing happy. This ban will give you time to think about what you done.

 

It doesn't matter how the situation starts. If you respond in a way that violates the code of conduct (which profanity does), you can be punished. In situations like that, it's best to just report the other person and block communications with them.

They do look at the entire communication. Your actions were reported, and the enforcement team would have seen that your response violates the Code of Conduct. Regardless of someone else's behavior, you are held accountable for your own.

 

Xbox doesn't care about how it starts, they just want to protect all the triggered children playing M rated games. Im currently on a 14Day ban on my main account for asking about a facebook group LGBT because the T stood for something "inappropriate,
demeaning, profane and suggestive language" even tho the kid was harassing me. To top it off, they dont have to support or prove you deserve the ban, just "we deem it "

 

All suspensions are issued based on evidence received in a report from a user on Xbox Live or via its own records. If it is "deemed", they have the evidence supporting the need for it.

 

The problem is, doing it that way, you will end up getting a suspension still for reporting everyone, and they still won't be ban. Sending 1 message isn't harassing, and unless it contains cuss inappropriate,
demeaning, profane and suggestive word, or threat ( of violence as im willing to bet DDoS attack threats or Reset stats etc wouldn't matter to Xbox Enforcment).

 

One message leading to a 14-day suspension would indicate (1) this has happened before, since suspensions escalate in length for each subsequent infraction, or (2) if this was the first suspension, it was a doozy of a message, since the severity of the incident
can also determine the length of the suspension.

As to DDoS, you're right, it's not really Xbox's issue. While you certainly should report users threatening to employ such tactics, if one were to occur, you would report it to your ISP instead, since they are the ones being attacked, not your Xbox.

 

Ive had players on Black ops 2 shut my xbox off, or freeze it via Jtag/RGB xboxs, reported them and they are still using them. Yes its the second suspension I've received, but the word that i was suspended over wasn't a cuss word, it wasn't racist, heck,
it wasn't offensive.

 

If your Internet connection was attacked, you should contact your Internet Service Provider, which can trace the attack and take action.

If you believe the word used wasn't offensive, and its context was equally non-offensive, then you may list that in the case review.

 

Done wasted my case review, now im paying for services which i can't use for saying LGBT

 

When you pay for Xbox Live, you're entering into a contract. Both you and Microsoft make certain promises to keep that contract going. They promise to keep the service working as much as they can, and to fix it quickly if it does break. Similarly, you,
the user, promise to behave in accordance to the specified rules (the Xbox Live Code of Conduct). That contract does not include getting any money back if you break your part of the bargain.

 

Im well aware of the TOSA, i just was unaware that LGBT was voiding them.

 

It's also context ... since I haven't seen the context of what occurred, I defer to XBLPET, which has been doing this since Xbox Live started 16 years ago.
