Xbox Live & Backward Compatibility - XB1 vs 360 Live Connections

I have noticed there seems to be a difference between Xbox One's - Xbox Live & Xbox 360's Xbox Live. If the games are running off the same account should they not ALL run off of "ONE" Xbox Live status.

For example: the Xbox One & it's related games, everything runs through my Gold Account & it never tells me I have "LOGGED IN" or "CONNECTED" to Xbox Live. However when I play a 360 game from my Xbox One. It tells me I've "LOGGED IN" or "CONNECTED" to Xbox
    Live.

This to me makes no sense if the XB 1 & 360 are both on Xbox Live, then why 2 different connection systems? Is it because of Backward Compatibility? If so this needs to be rectified & fixed so that there is only "ONE" Xbox Live Connection that both the XB
    1 & 360 utilize.

Personally I'm tired of playing a 360 game on My XB 1 & told I've been "DISCONNECTED" from Xbox Live - when in truth I'm still very much connected. It's the 360 part that is "DISCONNECTED" or better yet. Trying to access 360 "INGAME" content & a notice comes
up saying I have to be "CONNECTED" to Xbox Live, when there again, I am connected through my XB 1 & the 360 Xbox Live connection is the issue.

Solution - Run all XB 1 & 360 content through one Xbox Live Connection for the XB 1.

Other Solution: update "ALL" 360 games to a XB 1 format & do away with Backward Compatibility - "WITHOUT" charging the Gaming Community for Games we already own.

    :)

$99 Xbox 360 on Black Friday

There is 0 reason to buy a 360 on black friday when the Xbox One is offering lots of backward compatible games and that library will continue to get bigger.

Do yourself a favor, buy an Xbox One, buy 1 yr of Xbox Live Gold and enjoy 4 free games a month, 2 from 360 backward comp list and 2 XB1 games.

Then you can buy the newest games with 360 classics.

no as xbox one servers are different from xbox 360

They are al one connection rwgardless.of type

    But two.different status

Your are connecting to azure servers on xbox one

Vs.the old matchmaking servers of xbox 360

I don't think you fully understand how bc works

In order to use bc content you must be connected to live for a reasom

You need to download the patch before you can use new bc titles from disk

You do not need to be connected to live once you download the patch and no you do not need to have gold.for the patch but only if you need.matchmaking

FYI xbox home gold doesn't apply to xbox 360 live

It only applies on the account with actual gold

Ingame content still.needs to be connected to live

But unless you are using multiplqyer content you don't need gold

  5. Hi,

When using Live on backwards compatible games, there will actually be two instances of you signed in, one for Xbox One, and another for Xbox 360. This is how it's meant to work be design.

This is so while playing any Xbox game, be it Xbox One or Xbox 360, you can still receive messages and game invites and use all the other functions of the console. You can also use the same account on an Xbox One and an Xbox 360 at the same time. Again,
    this is by design.

If BC titles were to be modified to act purely as Xbox One games, this would break the multiplayer element, and the ability to play with players that are still playing these older games on an Xbox 360.

Are you having disconnection issues using backwards compatibility on the Xbox One? Do you frequently disconnect while playing online with BC titles?

Yes, I'm unable to connect to Xbox Live on the 360 through backwards compatibility.

When will MS dump the 360.

With no backward compatibility I expect the 360 and 360 on Xbox live will be around for years
