Xbox Live - back to in home play only

We looked into Xbox Live on our 360 but do not want to subscribe to it at this time. We want to go back to playing MineCraft at home only. However, when we try to load the game after choosing profile or whatever we choose the screen states "Sorry, this console
can't play until your subscription payments are up top date." We have never had a subscription nor do we want one. How de we get back to being able to play "at home" only?

XBox One not allowing to connect to Xbox Live

Xbox One isn’t able to connect to Xbox Live. Home internet is fine. I’ve been playing several games online with friends. Everything was fine.... the only thing I did was play an Xbox 360 game in the console. I logged into Xbox live for the 360 game and when I was done playing, I turned the tv off. I come back the next day and it says I have to buy Xbox live, again. So, I go to buy it and it says I already have it but it still won’t let me sign into Xbox live. Please help!!! Frustrated!!!

That message usually only comes up on a console that was purchased as part of the Entertainment for All plan. That would have been a deal where the consoles was $99, but you had to sign up for a 2 year contract and pay $14.99 per month for Live.

If you purchased the console brand new and did not purchase it as part of that deal, you would need to contact support. 1-800-4my-xbox if you're in the US/Canada or
support.xbox.com/contact-us

If you purchased the console used, then the issue would be that the previous owner has not paid the subscription. You could try contacting support, but they may not be able to do anything. You may have to take it back to where it was purchased.

Going back in and officially setting up Home Xbox in parent account worked.

I dont know why the Xbox wasn’t officially set as home box from start when I 1st set up parent account as only account before setting up kids accounts, but I guess that default didnt take for some reason.

As for Xbox Live, I misunderstood Live vs Gold Live. Live allows some features for internet but not games. Only Gold Live allows the internet game play for the family share games.

Hi Dough,

Thanks for getting back to us! Now, the main thing here is to make sure only your account (the one with Xbox Live) is set as the home Xbox. You don't want to set up the kids profiles as the home Xbox as this will remove your profile as the Home Xbox.

Note: Only your account should say 'This is your Home Xbox' as mentioned above
Steeledwand7664; The Home Xbox feature will share your Xbox live gold with your kids but will only show the active subscription under your account in the subscriptions in settings.

If you have only one xbox and its your home xbox, he will be able to play on xbox live but he can not select the same xbox as his home xbox though.
