Xbox Live and EA Access Canceled After Stolen Console

Hello,

I’m just trying to get clarification because I’m getting bounced back and forth between support teams. Roughly two weeks ago my Xbox One was stolen. When I called Xbox support they canceled both my Xbox Live and EA Access as a security measure with the
promise that it could be reinstated later if/when I got a new console.

Last night I got a new console and Xbox support was able to reinstate my Xbox Live. Awesome. However, they were unable to handle anything to do with EA Access and insisted that I contact EA support directly. EA support in turn insists I re-contact Microsoft
because they don’t handle EA Access codes.

It isn’t a great sum of money, but I would at least like to finish out the year I paid in advance for on EA Access.

Any ideas? Is Xbox support able to handle this? Is EA giving me the run around?

sorry to hear about your problems - but glad you got another console sorted!

As far as EA access is concerned its my understanding that if you cancel it and you still have months remaining then you can still access it until that time period is up. So if you pay for a year and cancel at month 9, you can still access until a year is
up.

You can request a full cancellation - ie. completely revoke access regardless of any time left but EA will not refund any time lost.

It sounds like you had a full cancellation - in which case I would have a chat with Xbox support again and explain that Xbox cancelled it for security reasons and EA can't help - perhaps the billing team can check on what was left of your sub and you can
go from there.

An error occurred cancelling automatic renewal.Trying to cancel auto renewal on xbox live and on EA access and keep getting this error message one thing after another with xbox its a joke, Contact number for xbox support anyone? Ireland number btw.or does

EA access is actually separate from Xbox Live. It is a service sold by EA, not Microsoft. So Microsoft does not control the billing of EA access. It is similar to having Netflix, as in Netflix is not from Microsoft. So you can use Netflix on your Xbox, but
even if you don't have Xbox Live, you will still be billed for Netflix if you don't cancel it.

EA is who you should talk to about getting money back/stopping your membership.

It's not a hack through Fifa12. It's the fact EA's website was hacked and the EA account info was stolen. Then these same hackers as using the stolen account info to access XBL accounts and are purchasing stuff for Fifa12 on the stolen accounts.

I am not sure but maybe they are selling the accounts on to Fifa 12 players who are using them to buy the stuff? Or they are buying it themselves on their consoles. If the hackers are using their consoles to DL the stolen purchases onto I am surprised the
consoles haven't been banned yet as all the Stolen DLC will be linked to those consoles.

Also apparently tweeting about it, will get your issues resolved faster, Especially if you tweet to all the public MS/XBL figures on Twitter. This is a public forum that only a small portion of people visit. twitter is much larger and more public.
