microsoft cant help
make sure you keep your parent email in check for when you upgrade to adult account because you need your parents permission to be a adult on xbox live.
Yes.
Why
contact support? The Parent account has to elevate the Child account. Call center employees cannot assist you with that.
Have the Adult account tied to the Child account go through

the Promotion process

Change Age in New Dashboard
I know but I was wondering with the new dashboard update coming soon maybe they will change it so you can change your age or promote to adult account.
Why should they let you change your age? Can you change your age in real life?

As for promoting to an adult account. You can promote a child account to an adult account if you are an adult, not a child pretending to be an adult. http://support.xbox.com/en-us/xbox-live/how-to/online-safety

Xbox Live "Adult Account"

Hi,

You might be 17 years old in real life but not on Xbox as maybe you did not set the correct DoB at gamertag creation. Unfortunately that cannot be changed. Don't get confused on the Login.live.com DoB that can be changed but won't do anything with the Xbox
account.

FYI you actually need to be an adult for betas and demos and not the ma 17 rating either as international laws supercede that concerning demos and betas and trailers

You must be 18 or adult in your region

In most of the world it is 18

How to modify date of birth in child’s account

You can't change a child account into an adult account once registered for xbox live. You can modify the DOB under your MS account's page yet that will not upgrade a child account into an adult account for the live service.

Problems with age.

I found this, hope it helps.

Promote a child account to an adult account in Xbox

Xbox LIVE determines whether an account is a child account or an adult account based on the age of the account owner. Account owners who are younger than 18 are given child accounts in the United States. The legal adult age varies by country and region (for
example, the adult age in Korea is 20).

Child accounts are tied to an adult's Microsoft account. The adult account can control Family Settings and restrict some features of Xbox LIVE.

After you reach the age of adulthood (which varies by country and region), you can promote a child account to an adult account. This promotion removes the Family Settings and Xbox LIVE restrictions.

To promote a child account to an adult account

Sign in to Xbox LIVE by using the account that you want to change.

Go to Settings, and then select Account.

Select Promote Child Account.

Note The age of an account owner is calculated by using the date of birth provided when the account was created. This date cannot be changed. If you entered an incorrect date of birth when you created the account, your only option is to create a new account
using the correct date of birth. This option is available only if the date of birth for the account indicates that you have reached the age of adulthood (18 in the United States). The legal adult age varies by country and region.

Follow the on-screen instructions to promote the account.

alcohol adverts on xbox dashboard?

I always thought that MS marketed the Xbox to adult gamers and considering that alcohol ad's run 24 hours a day on T.V and radio, they definitely should not remove the ads from Xbox live. No need to censor live for the sake of the kids that are playing
Adult games.

Parental settings + Child Accounts = A better Xbox Live........Now just give me an Adult Communication channel and the ability to block kid accounts. I demand that the person cursing me out have an adult voice.
