Xbox LIve Account switch from 360 to One

I recently purchesed Xbox live Gold for the Xbox 360. I then got a Xbox One after I entered the key in Xbox 360.

Now here's my question I had to make a new account and i was wondering if I could switch the Xbox Live Gold to the Xbox One?

Has anyone else got $6.00 free from microsoft on 360?

I was going to purchase a few games from xbox live on my 360 and I went to add a credit card and saw that for some reason that microsoft put $6.00 into my microsoft account and thought that was just from the rewards program. But I happen to check another account on my xbox 360 that i didn't even use the rewards program with and have just purchase one game with that account and it also has $6.00 in that account also is Microsoft given out $6.00 to us or what is the deal?

To be a bit more specific how do i make my current gamertag an xbox live gamertag?

Note: I have an account on the xbox one but want to carry over my gamertag from the 360 to the one.

Gold is tied to the account, not the console. You would need to sign into the same account you use on the 360 in order to use the gold on the One.

Same here. Shows as $19.99 to me on Xbox One but have it on my original Live account for 360.

Only thing I did between buying the 360 version and now is I switched my account from UK to USA when I relocated. Surely the offer isn't based on where you bought the 360 version from?

if you upgrade to an Xbox One you can use the same account on the Xbox One, all you need to know is the account credentials for your Xbox Live Account with Gold used on the 360 and enter the same on the Xbox One, your profile will be downloaded and will
have the Avatar, gamerscore and subscriptions etc. The same account can be used on both consoles.

Switch your profile on Xbox One
