xbox live account sign in error

Hi

Im getting an error upon account sign in on xbox 360. message is "This Microsoft account is associated with a different xbox live user profile. try a different account". What does this mean and how do I fix it? thnx in advance.

i cant sign in!!! help!!

ok, so a while back LIVE sent me a message over xbox live and said that i needed to enter in a security code for my account so no one else could sign in to it. i ignored it. a few days ago i was at my friends house and i couldnt download my account. an error code popped up. now when i try to sign in to xbox live on my computer, it makes me go through all this crap. my email hooked up to xbox live is hotmail and it is microsoft too. i have to enter that stuff in my hotmail account too! Help!

Microsoft looking into Error Code 0x8004888d

I haven't seen this error yet, but a lot of people aren't able to connect to live. Maybe you are among the people suffering from error code "0x8004888d". It pops up whenever someone tries to sign into their account. So far the news is that Microsoft is working hard to fix the issue. So are you having the problems?

That's the error code for not being signed in to XBox live. Are you signed into the account that has Game Pass on it?

It did not fix the issue, I also attempted to sign in with another account and the same error happened. After the error I get "sign in error: Error encountered while signing into xbox live"

It usually says authenticator error like this one

We were unable to sign you in with your Xbox Live account. Please visit xbox.com and sign in to verify/update your Xbox Live account. This error usually indicates that

I think the account is a child account so how would I enable permissions? Tried after logging onto both websites and still get the error.

When you receive the error code 80151006, it means your Microsoft account IS valid, but is not connected with an Xbox Live account.

Here are some suggestions I found off of the Error Code Database:

Solution 1: Join Xbox LIVE

To sign up for an Xbox LIVE account associated with your Microsoft account, go to Join Xbox LIVE.

Solution 2: Contact Xbox Support

If you already have an Xbox LIVE account and you get this error, contact Xbox Support.
