Xbox live account security

Earlier today, I received an email about an unusual signin from the "Microsoft account team". Apparently someone from Seoul, South Korea tried to access my account. I changed my password right away and I'm pretty sure mobile verification is active on the
account because both my email and cell numbers were checked in the verification window.

On the Microsoft account site, it didn't say "Successful Sign-in" for that attempt, it just said "Security Challenge". I assume this means they attempted to log in but failed because they weren't able to provide the extra details needed?

Aside from a password change and enabling two step verification, is there anything else I can do to secure my account?

i cant sign in!!! help!!

ok, so a while back LIVE sent me a message over xbox live and said that i needed to enter in a security code for my account so no one else could sign in to it. i ignored it. a few days ago i was at my friends house and i couldnt download my account. an error code popped up. now when i try to sign in to xbox live on my computer, it makes me go through all this crap. my email hooked up to xbox live is hotmail and it is microsoft too. i have to enter that stuff in my hotmail account too! Help!

Best thing you can do to ensure online security for your account is to take a look at this and follow all the suggestions.

Account security checklist.

If not all I would definitely suggest you do these for your accounts security at the minimum.

Require your windows live ID password to sign into Xbox LIVE.

Set an Xbox LIVE passcode on your account.

And then there is this guide.

What to do if your account has been stolen.

 

That should be all you need to do. Just be careful about phishing sites and never give your sign in details to anybody.
