Xbox Live account region changed, cannot access Live on Xbox One

At this point I'm really just posting to see if I show up as Gold in the forum.

Found that my account was eligible for a 1-month trial of Gold so wanted to get on my bro's Xbox One (I don't own one yet and my 360 is a whole other batch of headaches). For some reason, when I went to enter my billing information, I was transferred to
Xbox New Zealand page and couldn't enter a U.S. address. Since I use a prepaid Virtual Credit Card based in the U.K. (but in U.S. dollars; point is, I've used it before) the address doesn't even matter. The subscription shows up on my account but I cannot
access any Live features on the console or website (except messaging from Xbox.com but that might not be a Gold feature anymore) and my account shows purchases from multiple regions (US and NZ). All of the purchases are legitimate but I have never lived in
NZ and would have no reason to have my region set to it. I have no idea how or when it happened because I don't use Xbox very often right now, but it seems to go back several months. I tried saying "screw it" and just doing another trial now that I can navigate
to the US Xbox.com site, but it won't let me because it sees I already have a Gold subscription (I just can't actually use it).

The Twitter support team has elevated it to "you need to call it." I hate calling people. It takes forever and I don't have time to compose my thoughts. I'm not exactly well-spoken. Any thoughts about getting this fixed some other way? I can't change
the region from the Xbox One or change my account region, but I've manged to change my Xbox.com region (or something; these new menus are stupid hard to navigate).

How to Change your Xbox LIVE account information

Overview

It is possible to change information associated with your Xbox LIVE account like your name, address, phone number or email address.

Note: You cannot change the country that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account. If you have moved to another country and you would like to access Xbox LIVE from there, you have to create a new Xbox LIVE account in your new location.

How to Change your name, address, phone number or email on Xbox.com

1) Go to My Account and Sign In with your Microsoft Account. (This is the email and password that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account).

2) Make the changes you want to your billings account information and then click Save.

How to Change your name, address, phone number or email on your console.

1) Sign in using your Xbox LIVE gamertag.

2) Proceed to Settings, and then select Account.

3) Select Your Information, and then go to Billing Information.

4) Sign In with your Microsoft account password.

5) Change your billing account information and then click Done.

In case you want to change the billing name on your Xbox LIVE account, go to Xbox.com

 

New LiveID but Zunes region still hasn't changed

Once set a region of an account cannot be changed even by changing the windows live I'd unless you live in one of the nine new regions goto my xbox

If your region isn't one of them then it is not an option nor will zune or xbox change it for you

 

Can't find an edit button so I'll plug onto this thread that I chatted with Xbox Support on-site here and I'm going to see in the morning if this is fixed. Right now my account seems to be mostly corrected but my Visa now says "invalid" (which is fine.
I can always tack on a PayPal account) and I won't be able to test Gold until I reset the Xbox One which is behind a locked door.

 

Update: The solution that the nice support woman tried did not work for giving me access to Live so my brother called in on my behalf, but got into a heated discussion with the rep because the woman on the phone insisted that my Gold subscription was for
a different account, even though I had to enter my Microsoft account email and password in order to get to the subscription page which shows I should have Gold through July 20th.

My brother is not a very polite man. Needless to say, it did not go well...

 

I wrote the online chat support team again and although it wasn't easy, they managed to cancel my existing, non-functioning subscription and issue me a code for the month instead. It currently works fine and I'm able to connect on my brother's Xbox One.

When talking with any Xbox chat person, if you find that your issue isn't covered by normal fixes, make sure to be diligent and include necessary details to help them help you. You're not doing yourself any favors by omitting important details, but don't
bombard them with irrelevant parts.

 

Chat got the issue fixed after another try. They canceled my subscription and gave me a one month code that worked for my account. They also made a note of whatever was causing my billing issues and what was keeping me from connecting to Live services.

 

Okay, I keep trying to mark this as answered with the solution that worked but the forum keeps deleting it, so whatever. Have fun.

 

Okay, since someone else can do this for me (sorry Miss Quinzel, I have an itch clicker finger) I'll just post my solution.

I wrote Online chat support again and this time they were able to do a bit more digging into my issue. I don't think they're 100% sure what happened, but they were able to cancel my faulty subscription and issue me a code for a new month. Everything is
working square now.

My advice when they're having trouble with your issue is to be polite, diligent and detailed. At first the chat rap could not even see my subscription, but when I explained the region-change issue and asked them to take a look at my Microsoft billing and
subscriptions, they were able to see my Gold subscription even though it did now show up in my Xbox billing and subscriptions page.

Sorry for the bump. This forum needs an edit function. Anyway, this was the solution.
