Xbox Live Account Problems (caused by Call of Duty Black Ops 2), can I get punished by ...

Hello there,

so I bought myself a copy of Call of Duty Black Ops 2 to play on my Xbox One (mostly for the Multiplayerpart). Soon I realized that the game is almost unplayable. Mostlikely every second, public lobby is full with cheaters or modders. So my "stats" got unintentionally
ranked up a bit (like ten levels or so), couple matches later ranked down a bit. Also, many achievments got unlocked today, again unintentionally.

Now I'm very worried about my Live account getting banned. I clearly dont want this to happen, and I clealy dont want to only play with hackers. I'm somewhat upset that neither Microsoft or Activision is caring about that. Of course, the game is couple years
old, but then I see it in a MediaMarkt (electronic Store in Germany) brand new with a new CD Case design (the one like all the XB1 titles comes with) I think it should be something done against cheating. Black Ops 1 is totally fine, played it now for like
couple of months and never came accross a modder or cheater. Back then I had my 360 I played CoD BO1, MW3 and Ghost for hours and came accross only one invisible guy in MW3.

I reached in a supportticket to Activision, and I'm gonna contact the german Xbox Support as soon as possible, but I'm still very worried about it. I mean its a fault by Microsoft or more likely Activision, not mine. As I said, this happends on the public
lobbys, not the private ones. Baddest thing about it is that I got a ton of achievments which I dont want, I turned of the console while this was happening but nothing changed, got them anyways.

I dont care if the stats and the achievments would be resettet, as long as my account is safe...

Anyone experienced something like that? Or does somebody know what I can do about the situation right now? I really dont want to get banned, I would be really upset about it...got my One only for like 3 months and switched from PC to Console.

This guy posted the same junk in black ops forum. Nobody cares, they are all call of duty, if you like mw3 thats fine, black ops thats ok. I really like call of duty 2 though waw, after that they got a little repedative. Sometimes change is good.

 

Unfortunately there really isn't much that can be done. It would be up to the enforcement team if someone were to report your account and there is no way to contact them beforehand. If you left the game immediately after noticing something was wrong, you
may not have anything happen, but if you continued to play then that could cause you to get a suspension.

 

Maybe it will be better to ckntact MS support and give them these informations and they can reset your account. Hope you will not get banned. I understand you.

so I had a look at the link you send to me, but I dont see any information about „victims of hacking“, I would rather call my self that way. If you want to know, I‘m avoiding these lobbys, then I knowing the lobby is modded, I leave it as soon as possible,
but that doesnt always work. Sometimes something has been changed and the game is already over or like the achievments I saw a console text saying „unlocking achievments“, left imidieatly the game and turned of the Xbox but got the achievments anyway. It is
not at all my intention to cheat or getting cheat on, I‘m actually scared that someone can change my account that way. Also I‘m kinda upset, I‘m paying good money to play online and it would be a mess if I get punished by something thats not my fault at all.
As I said, the game is on the Microsoft Store up for 60€ and in the local Store für 20-30€, so it should be somewhat cared about it...

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with Call of Duty Black Ops 2. Unfortunately, when you take a game online you are connecting to the developers server. I would definitely like to shine some light on XBF Paul recommendations.

If you know a gamer tag that may be decreasing the gaming experiencing, I recommend to Report the user to the enforcement team for cheating.

Here are some specific examples of cheating:
Cheating includes, but isn’t limited to:

• Involvement with modified (“modded”) games or gametypes such as modded lobbies, mod menus, mod infections, or other unauthorized modifications
• Involvement with modified Xbox hardware
• Intentionally playing with someone who is using unauthorized software or methods
• Using unauthorized software to make changes to your account or game saves
• Unlocking achievements, prestige level, in-game ranks, or other content you didn’t actually earn
• Repeatedly using a game glitch or vulnerability to gain an unfair competitive advantage
• Interfering with or manipulating your device's network traffic
• Abusing the player reporting (complaint) system by filing or encouraging your friends to file false or redundant complaints or feedback

Check out the
Activision Support website to submit a ticket and report the issue.

thank you very much for your advice.

The cheaters/modders are definitly violating against the points you listed. Problem is, there are too many cheaters. I could possibly fill an A5 sheet of paper by the guys I ran accross cheating... they probably modified their Xbox Consoles, otherwise I
cant believe there is anyway to cheat that way.

I‘m going to tell you what Activision is going to state aswell the german Microsoft Support.

Still, I hope my Live Account gets banned or something...

First Update:

I just called the german Xbox support and the guy one the other end told me that this is not a reason that I get banned by Microsoft. He sayed that its the game's fault/Activisions fault, not mine because its not my intention that my stats and my account
were slightly modified. He recommended to me that I should contact Activision, still waiting for a reply from them.

Now I can somewhat calm down I guess...

If I may give you a recommendation:

As soon as you see something "weird" going on a lobby that shows that the game is hacked or modified, try to quit "hard" out of the game.

On the Xbox 360, press the Guide button, then Y. On the Xbox One backwards compatible version, press the Guide button, move to the main game tile, press the Menu button (to the right of the Xbox button), and choose "Quit" to end the running game.

The longer you stay in a modded lobby, the higher the chances that an Enforcement member investigates reports of cheating going on, and if they witness you "using" these cheats, they might get the impression, you are "willfully" staying on that hacked lobby
and cheat on purpose.

If you join a game, and you leave as soon as you recognize it's a hacked lobby, you won't get banned, and as far as I know, the stats of the game are only uploaded to Activision when you return to the game's waiting lobby.

So if you quit "hard" out of the game while you're still in the match itself, your modded stats won't get uploaded to Activision.

So, to sum it up: As soon as you see something fishy going on in the game, just quit out of it as quickly as possible, and you don't have anything to worry about.

The longer you stay in a hacked game, the higher the chance your profile gets hacked stats, and the higher the chance of getting a cheating suspension.

that is exactly what I tried. But as mentioned, like when I got my stats changed, I couldnt leave. I joined a public match, saw it saying „XP Lobby“, my stats got changed (with that the rank popped up in the screen) and I got kicked out. Had no time to react
to that. Same story with the achievments. I got in a lobby, everything went normal. Then I saw the score of someone saying it was at 13000 points, which isnt normal. Shortly after that, I saw a text generated from a cheatingtools console saying „unlocking
achievments“. At that point I left immediately, but I saw the achievments popping up, tried to shut down the XB1 but that didnt changed anything.

Until that didnt get fixed, I‘m not gonna play Call of Duty Black Ops 2 again. This is unplayable and just unfair. And for me its just unbelievable that its in the Microsoft Store up for 60€ and in Store for 20-30€, for Software where one big part is unusable.
Hope Activision get that fixed, doubt that to be honest.
