Just to clarify, The new console is mine and it's only ever going to have my profile on it, and my friend had given me his old console which then became mine but that's since broken down so now one is ever going to use it again.

You shouldn't be using any other profile except for your own on your own console. Using anyone else's profile in a permanent manner is a violation of the
Xbox LIVE Terms of Use.

Since you've logged into this account on Xbox.com that means that you have an e-mail and essentially a gamertag already created. What you'd need to do is download your profile to the console.

You can create a new account or you can go to https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/Account-Profile/manage-account/change-email-sign-in-for-microsoft-account to change the email to it. I hope this helps!

if the email linked to the Xbox account is a Microsoft email (Outlook, Live, Hotmail) then it can't be removed from the account as that would permanently delete that MS email account.

you can NOT delete a xbox live account, you can only move it to a different Microsoft Account.

So you will need to move that unwanted xbox live account to a new (temporary) Microsoft Account and after that you will be able to move your GT (xbox live account) to that Microsoft Account.

Be aware that you can only move a xbox live account to a different Microsoft Acocunt when it has been on a console for at least 30 days, without it being downloaded.
