Xbox live account issue

I’m hoping someone might be able to help me with a situation I have with my Xbox Live account. I recently had an excruciatingly frustrating, 2+ hour, call with Xbox live support. During this time they succeeded to put me in a worse situation than we started
with and then tell me there was nothing else they could do.



Here is the situation I encountered with Xbox Live “support”:

• I have an MSA (account #1) that is not associated with my family’s gaming account (account #2). I used 91,000 MS Rewards points from Account #1 to purchase a $100 Xbox Gift Card to use for my children. Unfortunately, I wasn’t actually provided a Gift
  Card code that I could enter into my kids account, and the points were simply deposited into my account. This was useless to me as Account #1 is not our gaming account and I wanted to purchase games for my children on Account #2.
• So I call support. The agent tells me that I can simply merge the two accounts together (make the email primary email address in Account #1 the primary address in Account #2 so that
  my email address would be the primary for our gaming account – which seemed perfect to me) and it will retain my $100 of Xbox credit as well as the existing 41,103 points remaining on my account. To be sure that this was the case, I repeated to him
  what he was asking me to do and what the result would be. He assured me that is what would happen.
• After doing exactly what the agent suggested, I asked him to stay on the line to ensure the points were credited after switching the primary accounts. After continuing to wait, he put me on hold. He came back and told me that even though he thought
  it would work initially “unfortunately” it won’t work this way, that there is no way to transfer the points and money from the old account to the new account. So I ask to speak to his supervisor. After spending far too much time explaining the issue, she simply
  said “I’m sorry, we can’t help you.”
• She then said that I can purchase games from one account to another. I thought, “Great, that will solve the problem then!” In trying to do that, it seems that there is a caveat to that in that there are only
  certain games you can buy for another account and new games don’t qualify. At that point she said again that there was nothing she could do.

My hopeful resolution:

• I simply want the $100 Xbox live points and remaining 41k+ points associated with my gaming account.

Weird Xbox Live Account issue?

It been strange it only happened on video marketplace, fine under games?

 

0x876c0002 error. Cannot pin games or apps

Remove your account from the Xbox and then add it back to the Xbox this will force the Xbox to rsync with your cloud live account. That should fix your issue. I believe that code is for a cloud account exception.

 

Unfortunately nothing can be transferred between accounts. However, if you the console set as account #1's Home, you can purchase a game and share it with other accounts that way.

As far as the points, you'd want to contact Microsoft Rewards support.
