Xbox live 12 month digital code not worked

I bought a digital 12 month code off Amazon yesterday morning

I immediately entered the 25-digit code into my xbox account via the 'redeem a code' option, as per normal.

However, once I attempted to use an xbox live feature, I was informed I needed xbox live to continue.

Confused, and impatient, I decided to purchase a temporary 1 month subscription whilst I try solve the issue.

To clarify:

I entered the code correctly, into the correct account.

I've tried re-entering the code but it says it has already been used.

I haven't received any notification from microsoft/xbox notifying me that the 12 months has begun.

There is nothing on my order history on the microsoft site - there are only details about the 1 month subscription I bought.

I've logged out my account on my xbox one console and logged back in....still nothing

Basically I can't think of anything to do and the virtual chat bot couldn't help. Anyone who has any advice please help. I'm a student and that 40 quid is meaningful can't lie

You can make sure if your Xbox live gold is active or not by using this link https://account.microsoft.com/services/

If it's active but you're not able to join multiplayer games, parties or use the benefits of Xbox live gold, then it would be better to contact the official Xbox support support.xbox.com/contact-us

Don't forget to skip the virtual agent by pressing "See other options"

If the subscriptions is showing up when signing into the account.microsoft.com/services screen that means that it is active on the account but sometimes the console itself still has in its memory that you do not have the gold on the account.

To clear the memory/cache for the system you would do a powercycle of the console by:

1. Holding down the power button on front of console for about 10 seconds for it to shut off.

2. Unplug the console for approximately a minute.

3. Plug back in console and sign back in and it should clear the memory/cache and should work for you.

i payed for a code to get 12 months xbox live it worked it said i have gold for 12 months but my live has ran out more than 11 months early? anyone know why?
