Xbox lights up but nothing starts

I just tried booting up my xbox and it lights up and all, but it ain't connecting to either the TV with hdmi or the controller at all.

And when i try to turn it off it's not responding to tht either, but it lights up as usual, nothing happens after that?

If you have already followed those steps, unfortunately the next best step will be to begin the repair process on your Xbox One console by visiting our Online Service Center. I understand the repair route is not ideal, but if your Xbox One console continues
to fail displaying an image along with the other symptoms you mentioned, a repair will be the best step to take.

I hit the power button on my xbox and i get the audio for power on and the power light comes on but my tv says no sifnal. im 100% sure this is not an issue regarding my hdmi cable or my xbox's hdmi port. it is a startup issue. i know this because when it
turns on and the light is on, no matter how long i let it try to start up i still cannot connect a controller, i mt kinect does not power on, and the usb ports on the side and back of the console give off no power. its like i turn it on and the light comes
on and then it just stops and sits there forever

when it lights up try to perform a power cycle by holding the power button for ~10 seconds.

 

yes, still starts up the same, lights up but not connecting to anything

 

That's a shame.

Is the console still covered by warranty ?

 

i wouldn't say it is, it's probably 5 years old, my fear is that even though it starts up, the operative system has shutdown inside

 

Try to open a support case at Microsoft (https://support.microsoft.com)

Sounds like you need a repair. You can
Contact Us and they can go over the options that you have. If the console is 5 years old, it is definitely out of warranty. Which if memory serves me right it is 160 USD for out of warranty consoles.
