Xbox lights up but does not display on tv

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

I would like to clarify, are you seeing a black screen or a "no signal" prompt?

If black screen, please try resetting the console and keeping games and apps via the Xbox troubleshooter page. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Make sure to follow the steps accordingly to access it:

"1. Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired network connection.

2. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.

3. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.

4. Press and hold the Pair button and the Eject button, and then press the Xbox button on the console.

5. Continue holding the Pair and Eject buttons for 10-15 seconds.

6. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the Pair and Eject buttons after the second power-up tone."

When the console powers up, you will see the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter. Please click on "Reset this Xbox" then "Reset and keep my games and apps".

Hey there. It might be a display issue. Check your connections. If you have another HDMI cable, try switching cables or if you don't , try different ports on your TV. If the Xbox light is on in the
front of the console, it won't start up unless it detects a working display. Also if all that fails, try a different TV also

Hook the xbox up to your fathers TV, go into system settings/console settings/display and disable display discovery, does that do anything to help you ?

No luck. I tried a different TV, different HDMI and different wall socket and it still lit up but no signal on the TV.

Hi, if you connect the xbox to the tv that is does show a display on, then go to settings/console settings/display and disable display discovery. Then connect the xbox to the tv you are getting no display on do you then get a display at all ?
