Xbox lightning repair

There could be many issues with the Xbox console due to the lightning. Only thing to do is to test it out see if it working if it isn't then you would need to get it repaired.

I'm hoping that any members who've had a machine that's had a lightning power surge console death can share their outcome and comment.

Microsoft's repair service have offered me a £208 swap repair for a working, but possibly used xbox one x. That is cheaper than binning my machine, but still a costly repair.

Sounds like the Ethernet port has went out. I had one that did that. Acted like the Ethernet cable was not even plugged in. My got hit by lightning. I just hooked my xbox up wireless until I could get a new one. You could give that a shot for the time being.
Or you could sent it in for repair but more then likely it will cost you.

Yea I just wanted to comment on the Xbox one x surge protector. Recently had some thunderstorms come through and a lightning strike hit nearby close to 80 yards away, in turn damaged my xbox one x, would not turn on. Was plugged into wall outlet as recommended.
Had to send console to be repaired( under warranty) through geek squad where they had to replace entire console. With the lightning hitting that close if it would have mattered to have had console on a very good surge protector or not to have possibly have
saved it. On one hand very frustrating had have a 3 week repair and no gaming, but on other hand recieved a new console. Just wanted to relay story for input to the xbox development team/community to help make xbox better. Thanks

My console runs about 14 hours a day.They generally last a few years.I m on my 4th one but Im about to send two in for repairs that got damaged by a power surge because they were plugged in during a lightning storm.
