Xbox launcher installation error

Back when I installed my Windows 10 system, I probably accidentally opted out of installing the Xbox app. But now I need it to play with friends on a game that requires it, so I'm trying to install it (manually, via the setup file from the Xbox website.
It starts the install normally, but then gets stuck at about 30%, and a few minutes later I get the "0x80131505" error code.

Anyone here knows what I can do to fix this?

Hi George,

I was getting and error to install, then I removed all previous Minecraft Launchers using windows ccleaner unistaller, so right now I have no other launcher installed.

My windows version is win 10 ver 22h2 and is uptodated.

Xbox app was uninstalled and reinstalled from the ms store using powershell

Xbox companion is installed

Did the system file checks: dism and sfc as requested

Did the chkdsk as requested

Xbox app still unable to detect my harddisk size to install the launcher.

My PC drivers are updated

My Mstore and xbox account are the same, this email.

Downloaded the last windows launcher from Minecraft.net

This new installer is giving this error: 0xUnknowappinstall

I just got a new update request on the xbox app, will test it asap.

Are you still getting an error when installing your game through Xbox app? Try installing the launcher as well: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/store/minecraf....

We can try some steps that might help. Kindly check if you have any pending updates using this link https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo... or select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update , and then select Check for updates.

If there's nothing pending, press the Win + R key to open the Run dialog.

Type cmd and click OK to open Command Prompt.

In the Command Prompt window, type the following command and hit Enter to execute:

WSReset.exe

then try installing the app again here: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/apps/xbox-app-for-pc.

i have a xbox game pass some day ago my windows faced some kind of error i reinstalled windows and now i installed minecraft launcher and i did log in with microsoft but it showing play demo

i uninstalled launcher reinstalled and tried most of things which i can doeven and i installed launcher from microsoft store because launcher which i downloaded from minecraft.net said it was facing problems so try from microsoft store then i installed windows 7 launcher to try if it fixes the problem but no hope

I have the same issue as the previous posters and have tried but Xbox keeps giving me a 0x00000001 error code. I'm getting a bit aggravated that this cannot be downloaded independently of the Xbox launcher or the Minecraft Launcher. Give us the link to download and install this without being forced to go through some filter/launcher and the problem will be resolved.
