    Xbox Kinect Adapter???


    Where can I purchase an Xbox One S Kinect Adapter? This product is either out of stock, not available or to be discontinued ,but stores are still selling the Xbox One S. Do you have any that can be purchased directly from Microsoft still? The grandkids
    are greatly disappointed and am considering taking back the unit. Guess wasn't a good Christmas present. Please let me know asap.

    Kinect types and versions

    As far as i am aware there is kinect for xbox 360 and kinect for xbox one. I refer to mine as a day one kinect for xbone and assume others refer to v2 as kinect for xbox one rather than 360. Afaik the original kinect released with xbone is the current version

    Currently even Microsoft is out of stock. You may have to turn to somewhere like ebay or check any local game stores that may still have some.

    Is there any communication about when it will be back in stock? I, too, was surprised to find that the Xbox One Kinect is not compatible with all versions of the Xbox One, and now I find myself with a useless piece of hardware on my hands, and people selling
    the *adapter* on eBay and Amazon for $200!

    Ditto. We may return ours as well. Very disappointed that they cannot play their favorite Kinect games.

    Kinect Support for XBox One X

    The Kinect will work on the Xbox One X. It just needs the adapter. Assuming it's the right adapter, then it should work fine with Kinect games and voice commands.

    The Kinect is definitely not built into the Xbox One S or X. That saleman was misinformed.

    It is possible to use all Xbox One consoles without connecting a Kinect Camera so no adapter would be required. However if you intend to use a Kinect camera with the Xbox One S then you will require an adapter please see details about the adapter below.

    Are you using the Xbox 360 with Kinect, or do you have an Xbox One with Kinect 2?

    Also do you have an original Xbox One with Kinect directly connected to the console, or a Xbox One S or X with a separate Kinect Adapter to connect Kinect to your S or X console?

    If you have an external Kinect adapter for S or X consoles, what color is the light on the adapter?
