XBox Keeps Updating

Hello,

I am a member of the Preview Program and for whatever reason my console keeps updating daily and even sometimes twice daily. I thought it was to fix bugs in the dashboard as a preview member so I called the tech support about this issue. The person I spoke
with told me this is a known issue and I need to write a post up here and I would be told how to fix this issue.

Hello

Try this:

1) Clearing the cache

2) Restart console

3) Recover profile again from xbox live

Hi there R0ck R0berts,

Sorry to hear that happened. Are you able to try using your hard drive on a friends Xbox to make sure the hard drive is able to still work as intended? Just want to make sure the fall of the game console did not do any permanent damage to the hard drive
before we look at the console or the hard drive as being the issue here. Let us know. Thanks!

Also please be aware that the last week there have been basically daily updates, so please check what your current dashboard version is and match it with the latest version, the number can be found in the preview forums too. If it's the most recent (or close
too) all is fine and be sure to check Settings - system - updates to see if another update might be waiting.

Welcome to the forums!

It is possible that there is a bad/incomplete update or file located on the HDD that is causing this issue. You may be able to fix the issue by doing the following:

- On the Dashboard, go to Console Settings on the My Xbox Tab

- Select Memory

- Put the cursor over your Hard Drive and Press Y(Storage Device Options)

- Select the option to Clear System Cache

- Once complete, it will take you back to the list of Storage Devices

- Select your Hard Drive

- Search all of the categories for any items that have an icon that looks like a Yellow Sign with an Exclamation Point / ! \

- Delete any of these items that you find with this icon

- Restart you Xbox and try again. If it is still not working, please contact 1-800-4-MY-XBOX for Official Xbox Support

On your xbox go to Settings then system then updates and download. Click on keep my games and system updated!!!
