    Xbox keeps turning off and on when I try to download to my hard drive


    Hi. Yesterday I tried to download the civilization game that was free on xbox 360 yesterday and when it started to download to my hard drive the console started to turn itself off and on. It'll stay on for a few seconds but then turn off and then the cycle
    repeats. I've got the xbox 360 slim and bought the 250gb hard drive for it and never had any problems until now..This only happens now if it's downloading something so I don't know if my hard drive is corrupted or if there's something else going on. It let
    me download a DLC just a moment ago but then when I tried to download another DLC for the same game it started doing that cycle again.

    When I try to download something on my 3tb hard drive my Xbox becomes unresponsive please help!!

    when I try to download a game on my 3tb hard drive my whole Xbox one becomes unresponsive and I have to keep on turning my Xbox on and off till it works please help with this problem

    Sorry, XBOX LIVE can't download profiles right now..?

    i took my hard drive to my cousins place then downloaded my profile to his xbox with no worries ( no idea why i had to download it to his xbox when its on my hard drive ) then when i get back home i hook my hard drive back up and see that my profile is gone
    and cannot be downloaded,

    keeps saying " Sorry, Xbox LIVE profiles can't be downloaded right now. Try again later. 80070005 "

    Where did you purchase the hard drive from? Have you tried removing the drive and then reinserting it?

    I got it off of amazon about 2-3 years ago..not long after I bought my xbox. I've tried reinserting it but it kept doing it. I've tried deleting some games off it to open up some space(It had 80gb left on it so idk if that had anything to do with it)but
    I've not tried to download anything again yet. Guess I'm afraid it might do it again

    Thank you for letting me know. To check if it's the console or the hard drive let's try to install a game with the hard drive unplugged.

    Please unplug the external hard drive then perform a powercycle before installing any game. Make sure to keep the hard drive unplugged.

    I was able to install stuff when it was unplugged (it worked when I clicked on MK11 but I paused because my internal storage is low on space) but I was able download stuff previously with it plugged in just not those certain games and apps. Should I pug in the hard drive and see if the power cycle fixed it or should I try something else now that we know it might be the hard drive?

    (in my previous message I got external and internal confused, my 2tb hard drive is my external hard drive. My apologizes)

    How to fix this problem i to take out my hard drive then turn my xbox on and download the update on A flash drive. Then turned off 360 put back hard drive. Next play Halo4 online :)
