Xbox keeps turning itself on and rebooting

Hello, we’ve tried pretty much everything we can but it still keeps happening. Some situations where it keeps happening is, i’ll turn off the xbox and ill sit there in dead silence and about 2-3 minutes later it’ll turn on. It seems to reboot every time
we turn it on or when it turns itself on as well. When we turn it on the boot logo will pop up like we just did a restart or reset. There would also be times where we would come downstairs and the xbox was on even though we turned it off the night before or
whenever. We have tried, turning off auto updates, cleaning the front of the detector pad on the console, fully unplugging it and plugging it into the wall instead of our power strip, pulling the batteries out of out controllers, we dont have a kinect, we
have energy saving mode on not instant on, our tv is off so it can’t be something with hdmi-cec, lastly we just tried blowing it out with compressed air. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello

It could be a corrupted download or file. Have you tried factory resetting the console entirely? Be sure to disconnect any devices attached beforehand.

To do a full reset just go Settings, All settings, System, Console info, Reset without keeping games and apps.

Keep in mind too that if you're using an external HD the corrupted file may be on that. So you may have to redownload everything on it as well.

Easy enough to troubleshoot - disconnect the external hdd and see whether the problems remain - if not you have you answer.

Alright I’ll try that. I tried that before but only left it unplugged for about 30 seconds. Do you think it could have something to do with my external hard drive i bought, i got it while ago but im just throwing thing out at this point

man I had an issue like that with a previous console I never figured it out then it just stopped working and had to get a new one.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.
